Not to go off-topic but even though $1 a day sounds like a little you have too look at what a dollar buys in places outside of the "developed" countries. Each of the following pictures of a weeks worth of food for the family shown. $500 can feed 4 Germans for a week: $70 feeds this family of 12 in Egypt. In Bhutan $5 buys this family of 13: Or a $1.25 buys a Sudanese refugee family of 6: More people die for health problems from too much food than too little food, and overall, hunger is no longer a problem for the vast majority of the worlds population.
