I don't know guys if you agree with me or not but I think submission to SEO friendly directories to gain backlinks/PR still a good way.

    Here is a sort story.

I started submitting my site to SEO directories started October 1 and up to now, I submitted my site to about 100 SEO friendly directories. Only 2 directories rejected my site and the remaining 98 accepted it as I received emails from them acknowledging my listing. In short, my site listed clearly in 98 directories within 10 days.

Today, I checked my link on google and I only got 5 directories who have my site in it... Most results are from sitepoint, digitalpoint, other forums, technorati, digg, blogcatalog, stumbleupon..and other blogs and sites... I checked each google result and there is only around 3 to 4 directories...

What do you think are the reasons why google did not show my link in those directories? Should it take time considering that those directories have at least PR3?

    Thanks

According to me either the page where your link is published is less than PR 3 or 4 or Google has not updated its back links yet.

The site that has the lists is new...PR not updated yet... most important are the sites listed there...

    Hi,

There are several factors to consider:

Google do not acknowledge new links immediately. It can take up to 3 months before Google validate the new inbound link to your site
Links from highly regarded sites (like those you mention) will be detected and acknowledged by Google much faster than links from other sites
Directories that you submit into might be new and have not been indexed by Google

    Hope that helps. Regards.

I have read this the same question on other forum, well, forgot it.
Google doesn't show all the backlinks and they did not update backlinks everyday. There is a certain time on when the google update backlinks.

You may have to wait until the next Google update.

Google saerch only show a random links of your site. If you really want to see the real number of your backlinks you can view it on google webmaster tool if you have an account. And remember it takes time for google to cache all of your links they only pick quality links to indexed.

did the pages that your link stays indexed by google?

if they are not indexed yet, you must wait until google to index them
