That's a bit far fetched, how can you back it up ? That'd be at least 10 000 members, not 10 - 15 maximum here at DP. I am getting about 10cents to 15cents per adsense clicks on same pages. But I meant in general terms with adsense, to say 45cents a click will send you broke is p1ssing into the wind. Because - the same reasons members feel the need to call it a scam - with the only proof being that they were banned. I am having success and wish to say it's not a complete scam. Everytime somethings happened "it's a scam is preached" A) Not in Google "Scam" B) Non English sites banned "Scam" C) I clicked my ad's just to try and was banned "scam" D) Earning aren't updated yet "Scam" All of the above happened and "Scam" was posted, yet each time there's been a explanation and reason to it and none of them because it's a scam - ppl jumping to conclusions or reading someone elses crap. It's simple, new company, take a risk with them at your own choice and risk, or don't and wait until it's proven.
No, if you read the threads half the sites were banned for "click fraud" or "dubious activity" or some crap like that where the poster said that they never clicked on the ads and WB never gave them any details. If your going to accuse someone of click fraud, you had better be ready to give details of this "click fraud". Otherwise it just sounds like "we are banning you because your traffic isn't converting well for us and we don't feel like paying you." 14 or 15 members at DP is a large portion of the DP population that uses widgetbucks and many of these people do online advertising for a living and have done fine for several years with other networks that have almost the same terms. The fact that WB bans them when none of the other networks have given a peep is enough reason to suspect them of scamming. Your ignoring this point. As for the non-English thing, it doesn't effect me but they updated their TOS on the 25th of Oct to include that without telling publishers. That is wrong. And your missing a complete other point: They haven't paid you ro anyone yet. You can't say anything like "they are solid" or anything until you have the money in your hand, which no one does. So far, their record does not look impressive, they banned alot of people and have paid all of 0 people. They were working very well for me too -- Until they banned me for "pornographic content" on my arcade site which no other network has had trouble with throughout the years.
Mmmm nah I am hearing you, but 50% is far fetched. I would also like to add that 50% of those banned are of non english speaking countries, which is evident by their name or poor English skills.
Haha. Definitely something to consider Anyways, I agree with thsadmin. If it was really a scam, they could have atleast played it out a bit better. (ex. keep every one happy till its time to send the checks) But no, they ban people way before quitting time (if it was a scam). Im pretty sure they are a fully legit startup company trying to do their best. PS. No, I do not use widget bucks.
One day before payment, the first payment isn't scheduled until December 15th I believe. I got suspended too so I don't have much love for them, but its not 1 day before payment. However, I do believe it is a scam because they suspended so many of us at the same time without any particular reason, whether our sites are english or not.
while about 99.999% of those getting banned from adsense deserved it from what i read on here, it does seem like some people are getting banned from WB without doing anything wrong at all. i haven't had any problems yet but this does concern me.
The one that is taking the p*ss as far as I am concerned is B. Non-English sites. When I signed up, there was no mention of NOT putting widgets on Non-English sites. On the 25th October, they decided to change their terms and conditions and state that widgets are not allowed on non-english sites. Now, what about all of us who placed widgets on non-english sites before they made this change to their C&T ?? When terms and conditions are changed, it is their duty to inform us of such IMPORTANT CHANGES. When we signed up, we had the terms and conditions in front of us to read before we could sign up and were accepted. When I clicked accept, I did so with no mention of Non-English sites not being allowed. How the hell were any of us supposed to know that they made a change to their terms and conditions ?? Are we meant to go through and read them once a day to check for any new changes they might have added ?? Who knows, in a few days they might add another change such as .... When the time comes for Paying out earnings to our members, we may suddenly decide to ban and delete members and their earnings without any warning !! If you find your account banned or unaccessible, it most probably means that we don't want to pay you, so therefore we have banned you. However, don't expect us to inform you that you have been banned - we don't have the time for that, as our staff are most likely too busy looking at other membes with high earnings, so we can ban them as well and keep the earnings all to ourselves. "Widgetf*cks - their ads don't suck but the way they operate sure does !!!" Alex
Do not use WB, they are scam, if you are lucky get paid don't forget that the money is robbed from banned account. The best way stop their scam is not using their ads !
I had also ~600$ on October and ~500$ for this month - November... I have signed-up with the site, they reviewed and approved it and nothing was wrong... But today I have received an e-mail stating that my site is NON-ENGLISH so they suspended my account. I mention that when I have signed-up there was nothing in their Terms & Policies to specificy that NON-ENGLISH sites are not allowed. They have modified and added this item one week ago I think... And I haven't received any warning or something like that. We should do something really quick because Widgetbucks will earn very very much money from us. Just think about this... If we let this happen anyone can start their own site and claim they are an ad agency, offer a big CPC and in the end suspend most of the accounts... What do you think about this?
For you guys that got dumped, try to get this thread to show up first in Google for 'WidgetBucks.' *hint*
Looks like the serps are already filling up with dp threads for widget bux BUT another idea might be to comment here http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/10/02/a-widget-that-actually-makes-money/ It Seems tech crunch is endorsing them, so why not comment on that blog, They have over 500k readers, I am sure this might be a good place to hear others views as well, If there is enough response maybe tech crunch could do an update
Its been a while since I seen a good rank that thread on here. If anything it would be a good one considering the amount of high profile sites ranking for it. Although I do see BEWARE - widgetbucks sitting at #12. Back on topic, are WidgetBuckets really scammers?
I am still seeing the majority saying that they had ad's on non-English sites, this rule is very old, still no reason for real concern for English sites. Original Non English sites warning on Blog Thursday, October 25, 2007 - even after prior warning date.
Great idea nintendo with the rank that thread thing I've just social bookmarked this thread to 20 sites widgetbucks
This thread is on the 2nd page for 'WidgetBucks' http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=548821
