I think if I owned widgetbucks.com I'd go and register the widgetsucks.com variant just to keep it out of the hands of troublemakers. It proves nothing.

Yeah you're a real Britney Spears now :p , this is the kind of crap where rumours start, idiots read it - Blog it elsewhere, spread the rumour further on forums etc.

Cracks me up - why would a multi-million dollar business risk their whole business and small fortune on a scam ? Exactly they wont scam us - sure they may get strict but that's business.

You won't get paid by them, because no one got their monthly earnings calculated and it supposed to be done 11 days ago. But we gonna see if anyone will get paid.

They're not a scam, have you looked at the people who have invested money in WB ? and do you know how much they invested ?

Well the investors have spent $10 000 000 - yes Ten Million Dollars in it.
Do you really think that WB is going to rip of the few investors of $10m ? I highly doubt it.

Have a look here for the investors, the owners and those involved - they're a group of 11 owners, investors and managers etc.

I agree totally thsadmin. Though with that said, I see more people getting banned every day. I am with widgetbucks and I am very happy with them. $25 for signing up, and making another $25 on my first day through clicks. (and that is coming from someone who just signed up and just started learning about affiliate marketting and PPC, within the last week or so).

The one thing that I think should be a concern (especially to Widgetbucks) is the fact that their domain registration is one year. Yes, they are a new company which is 'testing the waters', however even I know that when creating a professional website (ie: an online store), it looks rather shady to register (and stay registered) for only one year after achieving as much success and growth as they have. I use godaddy and believe me, its pretty simple to renew/upgrade the package.

    <_<

I hope their not a scam, or my 25$/day for the next 44-45 days will be a waste :(

Also, with that said: to the people who are complaining that their click rate payouts are lowering for the same types of ads.. . On one hand, they have investors which are making them alot of money and in that sense, they pass that onto us with higher clickrates than adsense or adbrite. However, due to its increasing popularity and massive amount of clicks which are handled through a growing number of publishers, would they not have to adjust their click rate for that, in any event? (I remind you, I am new to this, though I do try to catch on quickly)

I don't think that is shady at all. Look at a traditional business and their "brick and morter" store fronts. Do they pay their leases in advance for several years at a time. No. Things can happen quickly in any business... and that is especially true with any technology type of businesses.

PS: Anyone wanna buy out my interest in FloppyDrives.com ? It was all the rage in the 90's lol

The peak right now in members being banned is because (and I have no doubt about it) this is their auditing period, where they will go through all the clicks and members, all the dodgy sites, all the shady clicks, all the high earners, everything is sifted through.

The period of time taken to do so now will be slow and tedious, this is their first crack at auditing their systems, hence they will be getting systems in place and learning the ropes themselves.

I have no doubt that as they grow they will employ more people to handle these jobs and possibly in the future a small team of managers, ie. managers for their members.

As for the one year of domain registration :

    A) OK now if they were going to be dodgy, and thought it out (which they must have to be this successful), the first thing they would have done is register domain for 5 years .... right ?

    B) It's no drama to extend the domain or renew is it ? So why would they even care ?

    C) Maybe they're trialing the name WidgetBucks - they may change it in the future.

True, I withdraw from that comment. Perhaps it was a bit one-sided. When I first started looking into this whole genre, I first looked into online retail. When I looked into online retail, I found a slew of websites which were created for the immediate intent to scam people out of their money. Usually they followed a trend and one of the big 'warning signs' was 1 year reg.

This is not remotely the same situation; I guess I was just drawing back on a rather unpleasant experience with a scam-store.

    -------

Edit: Fact of the matter is. widgetbucks is not a 'scam' site. Like Thsadmin pointed out. Check out the link that was provided. Those are some heavy hitters which definetely know what they are doing.
