How to form an 'inc'

Aright, i own a LTD company here in Glasgow, im wondering how possible is it to register an INC

for example:

Google inc
DeviantART inc

There are steps you'll have to take to change the company to a corporation and fees. When my husband did it here in Canada it was about $1k and done by a lawyer.

 

im based in Scotland, UK but i have a small office in New York so i can register it in America, im wondering if there is any online way i can do it. $1k is fine its just actually getting done which is the problem

though I would recommend spending the extra money and doing it through a lawyer.

legalzoom is pretty good.. though it is not as cheap as they say there are some hidden fees there.. but sitll cheap in comparison with hiring a lawyer or accountant

Incorporating itself is easy, but there are other things to consider such as where you want to incorporate (Delaware, Nevada) and your board of advisers. There are some legal nuances you have to abide by to remain in good standing...Talk to a lawyer.

 

Heard good things about legalzoom but I have never used them. Hopefully after the first of the year I will move from a sole to and LLC

Well my offices are moving from Glasgow to Silicon Valley in March of next year, its currently a Scottish LTD company, it would be more hassle going over to Mountain view, CA and setting up a LLC and then having 2 companys but doing exactly the same thing in USA/UK so Companyname, Inc (Dont want too spam/advertise) Also, all the big companys in the valley are incs Yahoo, Google, Apple ect.. It looks a little bit better on the TechCrunch Company index.

if you in Glasgow (Scotland) then you do not have "inc" but you have "Ltd" - limited

anyway if you have questions about incorporation in the US check out LLC vs S-Corporation

 

If you are as big of a company as it seems and you are moving offices to the US in the near future I would highly recommend getting a lawyer and getting it done right. Not that online solutions aren't possible it just seems that you have a lot to lose and you might as well spend a little more upfront to make sure that it is done right.

 

Incorporate = double the tax
The corporation tax and your own tax however you are limited to the liability of the corporation and can split the liquidate of the corporation in case of unfortunate event.
