    Hi;

    while i was checking my logs, i see 20 visits from 72.36.156.8 .

    that ip has visited my nearly 20 pages.

    My cpanel says that visits were like

    Http Code: 200 Date: Nov 10 23:53:01 Http Version: HTTP/1.0 Size in Bytes: 16706
    Referer: -
    Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)

    when i check that ip with domain tools http://whois.domaintools.com/72.36.156.8 , they dont say me that this ip is owned by google.

    what's happening with that ip?:confused:

    do you think that i must block or or not?

    Thanks for the comments

    This is a fake Google Bot spider, happens often. If you block the IP it will just crawl you from another one.

    It really depends "who" is doing the crawling, it appears at first glance to be a web hosting company, so most likely it is a customer doing it.

    The real question is, Are they crawling for a small search engine OR is it a spam bot crawling for content to steal. Have you checked copyscape for duplicates of your site?

    http://www.copyscape.com/

    Check the pages it was crawling, you best bet is just to ignore it. If it isn't eating up bandwidth or hurting server performance you really got nothing to worry about, if it is stealing content or you find stolen content just report to the hosting company.
