Considering most of them use the ref="nofollow" tag this is more of a promotional method than SEO. You'll generate some traffic but recieve very little to none when it comes to SEO weight.

Traffic can still be pretty handy though. Don't often go overboard with SBM but it can come in handy for a boost of traffic from time to time.

 

Just a little hint, there are lots of Pligg powered sites and some have ok pageranks, most have at least 2. You can search for these easily on Google, for example:

keyword "powered by pligg" inurl:cloud.php

you can replace the cloud.php with any standard pligg-page of course.

Well, SBM is just a part of your promotion and I don't advise anyone to use all your online time in SBM..just part of it... This is good only for immediate traffic but of course not recommended for long-term traffic... I provided all in my sig..link building, forum posting, etc...
