    Your immune system can be boosted by steriods? ...I know that the medical profession can use them to boost lung strength when there's an infection but I'm sure that it has a negative affect on the immune system itself - do you have any info to back this up? (not having a go, just interested :) )

    Re the HGH - Sylvester Stallone looks good on it! I'm sure that half the hollywood set are taking it - there's no way that Brad Pitt looks his age ;)

    You are incorrect on being sure they have a negative effect.
    #1 it depends on the type of steroid.
    #2 some actually boost your immune system, the problem is without using them correctly your body can become dependant on them.
    #3 there is also a difference between steroids, anabolics and corticosteroids.

    As far as anabolics go, I'm in a hurry here so can't give you a good link. Did a quick search though, it's actually a pretty common bit of into ;)

    Grim you've heard of Animal pak right? It's got alot of enhancers in it. Are they hormonal or anything? I want to keep it 100% natural.

    Yep, I take them every training day ;)
    They are trully nothing more than an advanced vitamin from my knowledge.
    When lifting heavy and often a normal vitamin does not cut it..

    I work out 5-6 days a week, not really body building but I left weights, martial arts & lots of cycling.

    Depending on how he's doing it he might not be.
    It's not uncommon for me to do 7 days, did it last week and will be going it again this week.

    Other times I might only do 5 days, but get 8 sessions in ;)

    As long as you break your workouts 'body parts' apart enough, get enough nutrition, etc it can be done. It however is not necessarily an easy thing to do.

    guy, any tips for faster recovery?

    usually i can workout in the next day. However, i need 2 - 3 day rest since last month..

    I did deadlift on Sunday, my whole body is still sore now, it is freaking annoying cause i want to workout

    sleep is sth i can't get enough...

    i am using BCAA, + hot shower and stretching, but doesn't work too well

    my traps and my butt is killing me, can't even move without feeling sore:mad:

    That happens to me sometimes as well, especially if I haven't hit a muscle in a while, change up the movement a bit or simply do it a bit more than usual.

    Could try some potassium as well. Lots of things that can speed up recovery, much of the time it's simply 'time and rest'

    I was a professional wrestler for over 20 years, and while no one ever mistook me for a bodybuilder, I've spent a LOT of hours in the gym and a great deal of my life around bodybuilder-types.

    The main thing when getting into a weight-training program is DO NOT OVERTRAIN! The #1 mistake I've seen people make is that "more is better." The fact is, you do the weight training to break the muscles down. the growth comes in during the rest in between workouts, as the muscles "heal," becoming bigger and stronger. If you don't allow for ample healing time, your gains will be minimal and eventually you will likely face injury.

    When I was young, I could work a major muscle group (chest, arms, legs, etc.) every 72 hours. Now that I'm an old fart, that's more like 96 hours and a good, hard chest workout only once a week. Everybody is different, but as I've gotten older I definitely need more rest between workouts on a body part.

    Get a strong, balanced diet with plenty of carbs and proteins and be smart about your training schedule and LISTEN to your body. There's a big difference between the satisfying pain of a good workout and the screaming pain of injury.

    Also, be careful about which articles you read for training advice. Remember, if you're going to follow the regiment of someone who is a 'roid freak and you're training naturally, it's not gonna work out well for you. Steroids reduce the amount of time needed between workouts, so someone on juice is on a completely different schedule than someone natural.

    There used to be a good magazine about natural weight training called, "Ironman." I don't know if it's still published; I haven't read a workout magazine in years, but if it is, check it out.


    EDIT: I just realized the page I was looking at when I posted this WASN'T the last page of the thread, so my answer is several months late... You know that wrestling thing I mentioned? Well, I got hit in the head a LOT and moments like this have proven to me that brain damage is not your friend! :)

    Well if I do something like 4 sets, reps of 8,8,7,7 on a weight I can control, then I can't feel the work out.

    Every person is different, it takes each person to come up with what is 'over training'

    At the moment my workouts are 2-2 1/2 hours long and I barely feel sore at all from them, much of the time I don't feel sore at all. Plus I only hit one main body part per workout for the most part.

    Chest day was about 2 1/2 hours of hard chest movements, yet I was not sore the next day. No soreness = definitly not overdoing it in my book.

    Stuff like that gets hits, drop in your diet, excersies, supps etc.

    Rape the aff links to something like bb.com etc.

    Pics are nice, vids get attention everywhere :p
