Is there a rule that prevents users who can not refer customers for sales? anyone has same problem?

If you don't make any sales within 6 months (I think it's 6?), CJ give you the boot.

Keep track of how long you go without a sale for... then get 'somebody' to buy something from eBay using your cookie.

As far as I know, you can buy on eBay using your own cookie.

I was concerned about this too but have finally made some sales. Hoorah, hoorah! But I'm pretty sure that it says somewhere on cj itself that if you don't make a sale within 6 months and don't want to lose your account, buy someting yourself.

I was all prepared to buy someone's Christmas present to keep my account. But now I don't have to :)

Sorry I can't rememeber exactly where I read it. If you do lose your account it's easy to get another one you just have to sign up with all your advertisers again and change your links so it depends how much work that would be for you.

    HI Kersone

Here you go. But I'm holding you responsible for my wasting time :)

It wasn't a link. It came in an email I received from support when I asked them what my sign-up date was. This is what they said:

"If you are concerned that your account may soon be deactivated due to dormancy you may want to consider using one of your active advertising links and making a purchase in order to keep your account active."

If you're still therecould you take a quick look at my reply in my Smartzone post and see what you think?

    thanks a bunch!

This is one of the more ridiculous exchanges I've seen here for a while. I've tried CJ on my sites -- which are Christmas and gift-buying centric -- and most of their stuff just doesn't turn for me. To hang on to anything that doesn't pay for six months is kind of dumb. Seems to me CJ is doing the webmaster a favor by booting them in such a time frame.

that's stragne because I also registered to CJ a year ago and made some sales on December . since then I didn't make any sales with them and they didn't told me something like that.
They just took 20$ from my account - saying it's comission i have to pay every year.

They allow you to purchase using your own affiliate link? Isn't that cheating? :p

Wouldn't think so since ebay still make profit from it. Theres not alot people can do about it anyway. I got 3 things off ebay yesterday and didn't even think at the time it would add to my cj account.

eBay don't seem to have a problem with it. They can afford to throw a few cents at their affiliates.

But I always clear my cookies before buying off eBay, just to be safe. (and to stop my opposition making commissions off my purchases!) :D
