I too wish that I'd started in this game ten years ago but there still has to be a way to make a living from it. I'm hoping that I can improve my standard of living from my websites but I can't actually see me leaving my job anytime soon (of course that's still my aim and dream tho).

I'm currently making a profit and I'm hoping to keep improving on that.

I see my site as an interesting and mentally stimulating challenge which is currently more important to me. I'm now updating my site with lots of content on a daily basis now due to some shell scripts that I've written on my server and that makes me happy.

    Onwards and upwards :)

Where I live it's near impossible to earn over $1000 a month so I decided not to work and concentrate on Adsense.

The 4 figure income per month, allowed me to quit my job.
How stupid I was working for other people.

Adsense about 30% of income. Affiliate 40%. 30% other various online sources.

I don't think I would leave my dayjib even if I made 5k per month with adsense. I'm a manager at my dad's business which will be mine in a year or two. While google is awsome today it may go bankrupt tomorrow. Getting the extra revenue from google is always sweet but I coulnt rely on them completely to pay my bills. Although google does pay for my fresh 07 charger RT

I've been working at this for about 14 months and I'm 1/30th of where I need to be to quit my day job. So, by my calculations I should be able to leave my day job about 10 years after mandatory retirement sets in. Of course, if I work my numbers a bit (like anticipate 10% growth per month from current) I could leave my day job in another 3 years.
