Normally an advertising company would have some counter-measures in place to identify and prevent click fraud. Not only would it build trust with advertisers, but publishers would not be penalized for something they essentially have no control of. It's a two way street and WidgetBucks is smack in the middle. It's their network, so they should assume some responsibility for protecting everyones interests - which helps protect theirs as well.

Too bad WidgetBucks does not have click fraud counter-measures. The negative publicity and loss of high traffic sites publishing their ads will hurt in the long run.

Yes, there is the comment problem as a publisher. Those PPC advertisement provider can banned your account without any reason, or just invalid click without any proof.

A n00bie has to learn some time: Don't join affiliate programs when they first come out. Wait three months to see if they really are good. None of you guys would of been screwed if you had done that!

I joined...but never placed the ads on sites.

Well I recently had my account suspended, as I put the widgets on a non-english site ( apparently it was against the terms and conditions - so I accept this was my mistake ).
When I removed the "offending" widget, they reactivated my account.

However, all my other widgets and earnings mysteriously disappeared.

I wrote back asking about this, and also if the earning that my non-english site generated would be returned back to the advertisers or would it stay in their pockets ??

Lets just say, I haven't heard back from them yet.

Looks like I'm still in but I got this when I logged into my account:

Sweet! At least now I don't have to send the morons an email to deactivate my account, I'll just let them do it for me.
