Well this is a question for people who have a product on clickbank. How long does it normally take you to write ebooks?

I think many of them have someone write it for them

I got my recurring product approved in about 2 days...then a few weeks afterward I tried to add a single payment product and it was just instantly approved and ready to go...haven't tried to add any products since.

    Good luck!

So you hire freelancers? How much do they charge you per ebook?

You can hire, or if it's a subject you know, you can write like a mad and finish in less than two weeks (I did it).
You need to know how to mindmap and organize your ideas.

I think I am going to write myself and I do not trust anyone else with the information I am looking for the the way it needs to be compiled.

Don't think on a small scale friend - You have a big task ahead of you. It's not launching some text with nice publication - it's still a marketing campaign yet now your aim is to attract both sales and more importantly affiliates... So, this means that in addition to getting some creative text about a niche topic into a nice .pdf, you still have to think about:

    1. Your sales page, often more important than your product ;)

    2. Your bonuses/testimonials/non-advertised bonuses to minimize refunds/quality of your 'product'.

    3. Most important for longevity once you prove that your product does in fact convert - is your affiliate resource center. Landing pages, banners, videos, articles to re-write, pop-under codes, proven ppc campaigns, product details, graphics/branding assets, audio, etc...

    4. A marketing campaign aiming at affiliates and retaining them in a centralized zone to train/lengthen/strengthen their skills - you're basically trying to automate a worldwide digital sales team - amazing problem to have ;) but takes skill, stealth and patience to grow from affiliate to vendor and aff manager...

    5. You could always just throw the product up with a quick sales page and thank you page and cross your fingers however you'll run out of steam quickly, it's a never ending loop, you'll find yourself launching more products, and thinking there are more ways to monetize, focus on making sure your product is needed in the market-if you prove sales on your own chances are you have a winner, if you do not; i strongly advise against trying to attract affiliates as they may also not convert and be skeptical of promoting your future products.

Hope this helps, wish I had this info when I started... my siggs have some more info on launching products successfully if you'd like to take a look - I also work with vendors often to help monetize and penetrate the markets better, feel free to reach out if your product does convert well, I'd be happy to help maximize your efforts with you.

I can do a good (IMO, of course :p) eBook in a couple of hours if I'm motivated.

I run an eBook business, let me know if you're interested. Done fairly well. Anyways, you could do it yourself, or you could hire out; depends on the free time you have and how urgently you need it of course :)

Well, let your personality shine through. If you just state the facts, sure people will buy, but they will not come back for more if it's a bland read.

I sold two eBooks on common subjects- Domains and Proxies, but because 'I have a great style of writing' (Don't ask me who said that :p) people bought them both, as well as a couple of other ones :)

Also, re the pages; mine are generally ten pages maximum. Unless it's a phenomenal topic, or you have a lot of knowledge, don't keep it too long- don't want to send anyone to sleep ;)

Standard we've set for our own products:
    10 pages or less, it's a Guide.
    10 - 20 something pages, it's a Report.
    Above that, it's an eBook.
Simplest formula I ever came across for writing your own:
Come up with chapter headings, put them in the right order
    Start writing!
Far, far simpler... pick up some high quality PLR products in
your niche and start editing and changing titles, graphics, etc.
    Heaps faster too.
