I don't think clicking the webmasters link to say thankyou is really beneficial for the webmaster or for those concerned, think about it you are clicking on one webmasters link to reward him - another webmaster just paid twice as much for that click - so hence you've rewarded one webmaster and ripped off another.
Sounds wierd.. .but I click them when they insult me or say something funny. I can't help it. Sort of like the rich jerk's ads.
If the visitor is not a webmaster then he will probably click the ads........... I never click ads unless it has something special in it.......
I think the only two I have ever clicked was by accident If I purposely don't, then I won't be tempted to click my own no matter how interesting they look.
i don't click by mistakes if i find something interesting i click.and if i had to see my own ads i just right click and properties and see the site.
I only click on ads when i m interested in the txt/image it shows... it should look attractive and the topic should make me click one
I never click on any ads. I guess being a webmaster makes me automatically avoid them whenever possible.
I don't click on my own ads. On other sites, I click when the ads interest me. Usually, when I am looking for good deals. It is easier to find good deals from Google ads. Sometimes, ads lure me in, using some bait, like a free ebook or report.
I also avoid Clicking the advertisements. But when it seems interesting I usually copy the link as in the image below and paste them in new window or Tab Just as in this image ..
When I search for things in google and page after page is nothing but crap/spam/MFA and all lacking content... I'll generally resort to clicking ads on the 4th ot 5th page in the SERP, though sometimes I'll click into page 10 or 15 in hopes of finding some lost gem. Sadly, most of the sites I land into though ads are little more then the same crap I was trying to get out of. Thata when I try new search terms...or simply give up. Of course me saying this will encourage some moron to get a few more crap pages out there in hopes that I'll click his ads looking for real content. Actually, I've pretty much stopped clicking ads, now I'll search for forums with a discussion on the topic I'm interested in. I'll read a thread or three, pull out what I think is the correct answer (generally based on the general consensus in the thread) and get my answers that way. Alternatively, I will click an ad if I am searching for a product...though, if I think it's a referral or affiliate link, I'll only click on it if I feel the page I'm clicking from had some useful content ~ I dread the notion of supporting crappy sites.
I hate even thinking about the fact that I am making someone else money .... loool, so I never click on them, even if it seems interesting, i simply resist.
I dont click on them, got in the habbit of that when I made my first site . I just go to the url at the bottom
For me i never click any ads unless it's very attractive ads in no interesting content that i'm looking for in that page. But normal people who aren't webmasters will click when they find it's might be useful information for them.
I'm kinda in the same boat... I'm so trained by Google that you cannot click your own ads that I'm subconciously afraid I'm being tracked even on someone elses site! Google... you need to fix it so that even if we do click on our own ads, we don't have to worry so much! You've got us thinking it is 1984 with big brother, etc.
