so, then there is enough money to be made, that covers hosting and maintenance costs, I always wondered that

you cant use adsense on proxies.. as it violate the terms (risk of getting your adsense banned. which is not worth it)

I've explored lost of things, social bookmarking, AdSense, Affiliate Marketing, Blogging, Web 2.0 etc. But, no steady income :9

But, I LOVE proxies just started looking into them a few days ago. It doesn't take long to set one up and not so time consuming. Only problem I've found is it does chew up bandwidth as someone else has alluded to.

Note, poxies do get blocked so it's a very short term thing.

However, I've already got 0.80cents for 3 days effort.

    Good luck

I reccomend getting your self into premium CPM networks like Adtegrity, bannerconnect, oridian etc.

Www.sohantanna.com if you want to get into bannerconnect.

Adbrite is doing well too. I've got 820 advertisers :p

If you can generate enough traffic to them, one can generate over $50/day from one single proxy site.

I will agree thewird offers excellent hosting. I've been dealing with him and proxies for nearly 2 years.

They are worth it because all they are is a big site full of ads (from what I have seen from most proxies), and you can earn a ton of $$$ from them.

Me, I earned $5.00 a month off of adsense with my proxy until I sold it for $100. I think the short time I put into it was worth it, and it is all it takes to make a proxy worthwhile; time!

Who here, in the opinion of those who now have proxies, is the best person to go to if lets say - in my example - you're not quite confidant in the system but have about 25-30 bucks to invest (as in no clue which host, although I did see the one above that was 2k gigs (too expensive for a test run) or about what to use and how to best set it up and monetize it). Basically someone here who would set it up, get the things running and most importantly walk you through what to do and how to do it - and show you examples. I know quite a few people on here who run proxies are very code savvy (whereas I am still in the beginning level college classes for any kind of coding - thus want to learn and yet not overwhelm the person with moronic questions [What if I made a loop here? KABOOM. Oops]). I'd like to start small, maybe one, two sites at the most, get the gist of it, and if I can turn a profit from it eventually use it to help pay for some small things (books, food, reinvest in more proxies, take over the world, atom bombs) you know - the stuff someone like me needs.

Ah well, I lost my train of thought - or it just plowed into a giant bus filled with people on their way to prison - Leslie Nielson style.

Hint - when I say invest I mean if someone here will help me and can set up and blah blah they = investment

Aye, but think of the bandwidth  :D

I've always thought it's better to develop a network earning loads than a single site, if one goes down in the network, no problems... if the single site goes down, good bye earnings :p

You can easily install codes that'll keep your badwidth levels low, right?

    Karan does good ones :)

You could always set up one yourself mate, it's fairly easy to create a basic one :)
