you'll get than 10% of those clicks on your ads. and it really depends if you are first, or at least on first page for those searches.

Your ad itself will make a difference too. There is no way to really predict what your ctr will be, it depends on the response your advert gets.

This is a question you'll have to ask Google ;)

They do not release information that specific. Your best bet is too study your own conversions vs approx number of searches (using wordtracker or something similar) and make a good guesstimate.

    Hope this Helps!

That would be only possible to find out if you have some super spying program. You should focus on your niche and how well your ads work and again, you have to count in click frauds

    1000 x 1,000,000 = 1000 1 Millions which = 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion)

    :p

As for the original question. The truest way to test how many people on average that are searching on google converts to actual clicks on adwords ads, is by tracking your own behavior. Now your behavior is only going to be specific to your demographic of people on the internet i.e. people who act and think like you while googling. Everytime you search for something on Google, try not to think about it, until after the fact. Did you click on an ad? Did you not? Why did you? Why didn't you?

There are a multitude of reasons of why a person will or will not click on an adword ad. Here are just a few of my reasons:

    1. I don't have time to go clicking around because I am in a hurry.
    2. I have clicked on that ad before.
    3. The ad seems shady or scammy or spammy.
    4. The ad isn't related in the slightest to what I am looking for.
    5. Your ad was on the second page and I didn't go deeper into the results to put myself in a position to where I would see your ad.
    6. I found what I was looking for in the organic search results.
    7. I already knew what I was looking for but couldn't remember the site address i.e. I used google just to get to another website.
    8. Your copy wasn't good enough to get me to click on your ad.

Clickfraud is estimated at only 2 %

According to the study of the above article Yahoo searches comes out at 25 % of google searches.

I remember that when number of searches between google and yahoo were put at a default of 2:1 ratio here on DP, so 50 % of google searches

    1000 million is 1 billion.

Your 5-6% answer sounds pretty good.

Again it is very dependent on many factors.
If you are on page 16 good luck if you get any clicks.
This is also a big difference which position you are on page one.
The words in the ad also make a difference.
And the niche makes a difference.

The only meaningful way to work these things out is to run your own campaigns and split test like crazy.
You can also get some clues from what others are doing.

There is no extact number as it fluctuates each day, and I don't if Google would be happy to give out those stats
