Getting Members to start posting

I need help!! What can I do to increase traffic and get members to start posting. Its a Mobile resource site

You can offer to pay people to post there. The standard price around here is $0.10 per post.

 

You should start posting threads first and then start promoting. Why don't yout ry postfusion by adminfusion to populate your forums?

 

Takes quite a while to see some results..any more suggestions?

 

There're many ways. Give them awards on forums, special features etc.

Post exchanges can help too. Exchange posts with other forum owners.

 

..or you could give them 10 cents per post or something to post on your forums.

As soon as you start paying people to post, you'll be stuck doing so for a long time, you'll end up with soo many people trying to game you that you'll start thinking about hunting them down & beating them with tubesocks full of coins.

If people who didn't get payed to post catch wind of it, you better be ready for a crapstorm. If there's one thing that people hate, it's doing somthing that other people get payed to do for free.

Here's some more food for thought.

I talked with the administrator of a popular forum about why they hadn't banned a member that everyone loved to hate, their response, & I quote, was

They were absolutely right, the heated topics that person always got involved in were always quite active & I learned somthing.
There's more people on the internet with bottled up feelings just waiting for a reason to explode on someone & get it out of their system than any other type of person on the internet.

 

Get the ball rolling on your forum. Start up will not happen over night. I am going around 6 months with only 2,500 posts. You have to be patient. In the mean time you can work on links and advertising.

Just a little note on your forum, don't post as admin. If People see that more then half the last post were by the admin then the forum doesn't look to active.

1. Create multiple accounts for yourself and chat among yourselves.

2. If time allows, then you can use a post exchange network like http://www.adminfusion.com/forums/postfusion.php?do=viewforums.

3. It’s probably a good idea to set up General Chat so that people can come in and start chatting. There are pros and cons of doing this, but I personally think that it is a vital strategy.
