The biggest factor for me is if the article is not interesting. Why keep reading it if it isn't interesting?

    I dont see a poll.

i always read articles that interest me. i don't read those that are too long. long articles take too much time and maybe some of us don't have spare time to read all that.

Too many spelling & grammar mistakes will lose me. The occasional typo can happen, but if you don't know the difference between their, there and they're - and couldn't be bothered to ask anyone to check - I'm not wasting my time.

Yes. I agree and thats why i voted "other".

Most articles I have read recently are boring and uninteresting especially as some I have read have lively starts so to speak which enticed to to read them in the first place.

If the article was interesting all the way to the end I guess I would finish them off.

Note: This is just my general perspective, on this as some articles I have read are interesting so the golden tip I can give to you is keep it interesting.

Sometimes it depends on how the article is written. If there are spelling errors in it, it tends to lower the credibility of the content (in my opinion). I mean, if you can't take the time to run "spell check"...maybe you shouldn't be writing at this time. Take the time to check your spelling. That is very important. I've even noticed on this forum, when people are responding to certain ads and looking for work. They abbreviate what they're saying as if they're texting someone, or they spell the most common of words incorrectly. Granted, everyone makes mistakes, however, when you find several within one article, it makes you wonder. It simply makes me lose interest.

I think you left out the most important answer from the choices in the poll.

Most people stop reading an article when it does not hold their attention. In other words it has to be interesting.

I can't stand reading articles that are written by someone who obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. That, and articles that are just regurgitated information, for example:

    Top 5 Dieting Tips
    1). Eat less
    2). Exercise more
    etc.

Crap articles equal crap results. Write something interesting, something informative, something unique, and you'll get results.

When the layout is ugly, not necessarily the content of the article. Though if the title and first bit of the article are REALLY interesting to me, I'll put up with any web design. I won't like it, but I'll keep reading unless the article gets boring.

Most articles stink of affiliate marketing. It is pretty obvious that the content is used to draw visitors and increase pr.

Most of the time I am able to figure out whether or not an article is worth reading just by the title. But, the main reason I stop reading an article is because I have all the information I want/need in the text I've already read and I don't need to keep reading.

Anything that can keep my interest will definitely be read to the end. And if it has correct grammar and spelling, it just makes for an easier read.:)

Truthfully... I hate reading. Just like this thread (being honest here!) -- I found the Title to be interesting but I don't like going into details... much like long sales pages. I just want to get to the nitty gritty and either buy or leave. ;0)
