BEWARE - widgetbucks!!!!

read another thread in the marketing forum, thought id share it here..

a lot of people (myself included) have checked into widgetbucks previous months earnings only to see they have lowered the RPC of already approved clicks and income.

last week It said for october I had made $14 at 11c a click, it was in black text and had been like that for over a week as verified.

logged in today, checked the same page of stats and it says $7 at 6c/click (for october!)

changing previously earned RPC on verified earnings is wrong, yes, they should be allowed to change it to live earnings,(just like adsense smart pricing) but not go back through your entire account history and apply a MUCH lower rpc to your already accumulated earnings!

They gave no notice, no warning, just changed my earnings and rpc for previous months. gg widgetbucks already in the process of removing it from my sites and advising the people i referred to do the same. this is not a good way to do business.

October clicks for us on widgetbucks actually went UP, not down. Instead of $.28/c is now $.30/c.

It is too early for such postings, maybe give them a chance to grow, I really hope for a good alternative to adsense.

That has happened to me also.

$0.17 per click down to $0.11 per click.

I was already wary with all the newbs signing up to spam my forum about this crap. I'm not surprised.

They could use more tactful promotion techniques.

who on earth is going to stick with them when they lower your already established earning?!!?

imagine you log into adsense and it says you earned $150 for october

you log in the next day and it says instead of the 150$ we told you you earned, you actually, only earned $75, with no warning, notice, email, anything.

very poor way to do business imo.

Wait and see what they pay next month. I think the first people to get paid will be the first week of next month and we will know how good it is then.

I must say that is totally unfair to the publishers, but I do not believe that they are scammers. They probably received some complaints from their advertisers regarding poor quality traffic, so to fix up the situation, they cut back on the clicks. Like someone on this thread stating, their CPC actually increased by 2 cents for the October values, which most probably means that he was sending them traffic that converts.

Life isn't fair. Everyone's entitled to the truth... facts, if this is indeed correct. :)

My earnings have not changed at in October, holding steady at around 28 cents per click, which is a lot more than I can say for adsense.

Did you contact them and ask for an explanation. I would definitely be interested in what they have to say.

WTF; yesterday I had $0.11 per click confirmed from a $0.17 original, today this had gone down to $0.08 per click and despite more clicks, I now have a less balance.

    I'm chucking them.

This same thing has happened to me! I went from $0.28 a click, to as low as $0.08!

Its quite obvious WidgetBucks sucks! Give it up & move on.

Its just another one to add to the list of so-called AdSense alternatives.

Widgetbucks is doing really well for some sites i have.

I am mixing and matching with other ad networks to provide me with some publisher risk aversion - proof of the pudding will be the first payments and success or not stories here on dp
