Adsense in Forums

Does anyone have experience with integrating Adsense into your forums? Do you have any advice on implementing it? I am using SMF, and have AdBrite text ads of right now, but not sure how to go about putting the banner in for good returns. I have experimented with a wide banner at top, in text only that matches the site.

    Any advice appreciated! bostonunknown.com/forum

AdSense "can" work well in a forum, majority of the time it doesn't perform. This is due to the low CTR, because many people will go through many pages without AD clicks. Personally, I would use Google Image ads only more of these are CPM and will benifit you more.

CPM is 100% the way to go if you have a forum with a lot of traffic. Adding adsense to your forum will help get the rest of the domains on your account smartpriced too. I wouldn't put adsense on a forum if I had other domains on that account. If you have enough traffic you can go to Tribal Fusion and get into their CPM network.

I think you are right. One you get good traffic you should go for these companies who paid for CPM.

    Good luck

TF does not allow ads on forums, almost ALL cpm companies don't. You'll find your websites banned in no time.

I use adbrite for my forums, but I like to put an add in between the first and second post, or in the same fram as the post....try several ways.
    Good Luck.
Also before worrying about ads, get more posts on the forum...too many ads will turn people away....unless its a certain niche where they dont care about ads..haha

You can try placing your adsense code under your forum's logo. It might have a lot more clicks.
