Try submitting your website to the hundreds of thousands of free web directories that exist.

 

Get on the front page of Digg. You will get around 30,000 to 40,000 uniques in traffic. You will also get a TON of backlinks from blogs and website owners. not to mention delcious bookmarks and stumbles.

 

Slow but guaranteed way is to write in forums with the same thematic as your website, and put the link to it in your sig, it will surely give you many backlinks + some visitors

 

i was told if i but the link in my sig and the key words you want it helps page rank eg:
