I have come across many sources that state that we can ban or prohibit the sites with low paying ads. How does one go forward with it?
The only way you can identify the low paying ads is to use channels. You will need to use a different channel for each page or section of your site. That way you can see where the clicks are happening and how much they are paying. Now, if you use an Ad Unit that has more than one ad on it you cannot tell for sure which ad is getting the click, but you can get a good idea. Another good thing to do is to visit each site that is showing up in the ads. DO NOT click on the ads but try to identify the url from the ad and type it into a browser window. Most of the time you can judge by the site whether or not it is very low paying. Generally speaking if it looks like an MFA or it is unrelated to what the ad actually says you should add it to the blocked list. In your account you will see a link that says "competitive filter" or something similar to that. There is where you go to type in the urls you do not want ads to show for. Hope this helps
I've heard those stories lots of times too but they never tell you how to do it. I suspect that's because it cannot be done. Also google ads can be regionally specific to increase the probablity that someone will click it. So the ads you see on your site may not be the same that I see on your site. So it may be that the ads that are specific to my region are the low paying ads rather than the ones for your region.
Thanks Kentuky. I do use different channels as well for tracking the clicks. But dont you think it has to do something with the placements, color combination etc. A channel with a low eCPM does not necessarily mean that all the ads being displayed are low paying ads, is it?
All that is important, but it does not affect the ads or prices per click No, it does not. And contrary to what others say you must use the competition filter. There are a lot of crappy sites that advertise via Google and will pay you only pennies. You cant get all of them, but you can get most just by checking out the sites themselves.
The most difficult task is this only. So, i was wondering how to proceed on the same, and know, which site in a Ad unit is always paying me less than may the other ads in the same unit....!!
Thats what I have been trying to explain. You need to look at the websites and make a judgement based upon what it looks like (more details in previous post bove)
Use one ad unit per page during your tests and then go out and buy a copy of asrep. With asrep you'll know which pages and keywords are converting and can create more detailed pages in the same niche or topical area. Test the new pages you created and youll eventually distill down which niches are the most profitable. Wash, rinse, repeat...
MFA sites, or Made For Adsense sites usually pay the minimum bid amount. These are sites that has lots of Adsense ads with trash contents. How do you know which they are? Usually, they are those ads that says "Here are the top sites for...(keywords)". Try visiting them by typing their web address directly to your address bar (don't click the ads!). If you see Adsense ads and trash content, block them using the Competitive Ad Filter.
MFA , stands for MotherFu**** A$$401E5 sites like these 1st-clothings.com 1st-in-thongs.net 1st-swimsuit.com 5toppers.com a1-bikini.com Code (markup): DAMN GOOGLE SHOULD FU****G DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM , while they are so strict on people who fraud in terms of clicks , they do nothing about MFA
I agree! Awhile back there was a lot of talk about Google banning the MFA sites. Maybe they did get rid of a lot of them but there are still many more out there.
I started a thread on this how I increased my earnings by using the competitive ad filter to get rid of low paying MFA sites. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=538333 The biggest problem I had was dealing with Webfetti.com (Funwebproducts) affiliate ADS appearing on my site. There were a load of affiliate markerters using Adwords to drive traffic to their Funwebproducts landing pages. My ads were clogged by thies Low paying ADS and I gleamed them all out , and yet I still am finding eery few days a new one pops ups. I guess it was bad to hae the word "facebook" in my sites url... Some examples of thies sites I'm talking about. freecodes123.net freemyspacebackgrounds.com freesitetools.com myfreelayout.us mypimpprofile.us netfetti.com pimp-my-fetti.com pimp-my-profile.us sitefetti.com smileysisland.com spacefetti.com superfetti.com webfetti.com zulled.com So yes using the competitive ad filter you can increase your earnings like kentuckyslone said, just scan threw your ads by visiting your site and type in the urls in and check out the sites being advertised on your pages. If you suspect its a low paying MFA etc site then ad it to your competitive ad-filter.
