what is the right command for site:

    hi

    can any body tell me what is the right command to know no. of pages in google

    site:www.xyz.com
    site:http://www.xyz.com

    if both are same then why google is showing difference in no of pages indexed

    Use site:xyz.com

    This will include all of the site's subdomains as well and will give a clearer picture of what's indexed.

    The site operator for those 2 versions should be the same. Do you mind sharing the URL so we can look into it further?

    maybe the reason is that there is no permanent redirection of non-www to www version..

    I have noticed a disparity in results depending on the spacing between the command and the domain.

    For example:

    site:eyesonff.com
    site: eyesonff.com

    Both queries deliver a very different result. Why is this? I think that is what alexis.edwin is asking.
