Do you have any basis for that statement? My feelings nearly exactly. Was there any useful point that you were making?
pretty much everyone is getting the "blue screen of death". I've heard it every where. One of the guys I know says Vista is so cool. blah blha blah....and as he was talking about it....BLUESCREEN comes up!
I wouldnt get vista yet, wait until service pack 2 is out, i understand that most of the flaws in the vista at the moment and trouble with such high security measures that are annoying users of vista will be sorted out, i am only taking this of my girlfriend as she has so many problems with downloading and uploading files, because of security precautions taken by vista. Will, it is a really nice look though
I have Vista Ultimate and it's fine . . . but you guys realize those "100 reasons" were directly from Microsoft, right? It's not like "people have been saying" - they were directly from MS and people made fun of the reasons right away.
I still use xp because its not my computer, but when I buy my own pc I'm never touching windentoes again.... I use Ubuntu lots on my buddies computer, it never crashed while I was using it. I agree, 1000000000000000000000000000000xubuntu
1) I've not found any bugs yet, and I'm still waiting for the BSOD or for my computer to randomly freeze. 2) My computer has Vista loaded in 20 seconds or so, I have a 2Ghz CPU, 767MB Ram and a 64MB video card. So it's not like I'm running the latest hardware either.
I ran XP and upgraded to Vista without needing to upgrade my RAM, what some people don't understand is that Vista uses all your memory on purpose caching programs and information it thinks you may use next in order to speed everything up. After all whats the point of having empty memory sitting around, at least the system is making use of it all the time now.
Just disable UAC (http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2006/09/20/763275.aspx) only takes a minute to do. I've been running with UAC off since I first installed Vista a few months ago and my system has not got a virus the whole time. As long as your a sensible user and dont open random attachments sent to you via e-mail etc.. then you should be fine.
Just checked the loading time... Approx 20 seconds from when I press my power button to the windows login screen appears (Including all BIOS loading times). 5 - 8 Seconds after typing my password everything is loaded.
Reasons I don't upgrade to Vista - It cost lot of money, because beside buy the upgrade version, I must upgrade my PC too to run smoothly - still has security and unstable issue - vista makes microsoft and bill more rich than now
So how much did Microsoft pay you? Whats your severence package once Microsoft fires you for not being able to convince us?
Regarding the security and stability, Vista is fine. I'm sure the year or more of beta testing fixed a large number of bugs, and I personally have no experienced any bugs, crashes, slowdowns, etc... Most people who claim Vista is full of bugs have never even installed it and are just going by what other Vista haters are saying therefore becoming sheep and just following. I wouldn't go out and buy it, but when you buy a PC that comes with it pre-installed you will see that what most people have been saying is just crap. And If you want to give bill the ultimate screw you, switch solely to Linux and convince your friends to move to Linux also.
Then that's why you're not noticing the bloat. Turn on aero before you make any conclusions on resource usage.
I've used Aero on other peoples computers and it still ran just as fast as mine does, obviously if I enabled Aero on my PC at the moment I would notice a slowdown because my computer does not have the hardware needed to run such things.
