Have you tried to filter out certain ads by using the block ads section? (I think that's what its called)
Yes, CPC down for me too. Getting 40% less per click as I did last month. Focusing more on Chitika now.
I agree with the theory that says: US$ value goes down and hence Google's revenue from International Advertisers goes down too! Guess what? Our earnings will certainly drop too. Regards
I tried running a bunch of blocked sites to see if it would make any difference but the effect was negligable.
I have seen a lot of reports saying that this makes very little / no difference - or sometimes even has a negative impact...
I am waiting for the new when they say YPN is now moving to alpha. They need to get their basics right. In my opinion, YPN will shut down or sold off to someone else.
I've find across many websites and in various verticals that as Traffic increases, Google eCPM drops. I tend to measure revenue per visitor as opposed to per 1,000 page views. I have to combine stats from multiple sources, but I believe that it's a better way to measure my business. For example: * if I have 500 visitors in a day * each visitor views 2 pages * I receive 100 clicks * earn $50 my eCPM would be $50 and CTR would be 10% Now if I have another day where: * if I have 500 visitors in a day * each visitor views 4 pages * I receive 100 clicks * earn $50 my eCPM for the second scenario is $25 and CTR is 5%. If I compare these stats, it appears that the second day is much worse than the first. I had twice the traffic on the second day, but no increase in revenue. But, I had the same number of visitors and my visitor conversion rate was the same. The only difference is that each visitor viewed 4 pages before clicking an Ad instead of 2 pages in the prior scenario. If my revenue comes from users leaving my site by clicking on an advertisement, then what I care about most is how many of the users are clicking on an ad, not CTR or eCPM, which is tied to pages viewed.
Uh, alpha comes before beta in terms of development, so it would mean it's regressing... I noticed that diminishing return too. Say I have an increase of 400% traffic, I'll have 400% more clicks (or so), but my total revenue will only increase like 200% as the EPC goes down. It's very frustrating to see so much work put in sites, see them grow, and have your earning per click go down to the point where you are almost making the same one year later as in the beginning.
That is a very good point! Though I find that the page views per visit dosn't tend to change much on my web site so eCPM is still a fairly and effective way of measuring earnings. Tha main problem with Adsense is that there are so many blinking variables that it is practically impossible to know is and isn't affecting your earnings..
I'm talking bottom-line though. Adsense earnings are simply not as good as they were, and with the plummeting value of the dollar the bottom-line keeps getting lower. Not that long ago 1 UK pound = 1.42 US dollars. Now it's around 1 UK pound = 2.09 US dollars.
yes I am also facing something like page views are increasing and even clicks but cost per click is reducing
