Geo Targeted Serp Ads

    How are these typically done? I always see "Hot Singles In *My City Name Here" in the SERPS, just wondering how these are done.

    Possibly due to dynamic keyword insertion, rather than geo-targetting.

    In banner ads? I believe this is done based on the geographic location your IP address was registered in. So, if your IP is registered in Denver, it would place "Denver" in "My City Name here."

    No in text ads in the serps. I know how the technology works, i'm just asking how it's done in Adwords.

    The advertiser has a campaign set up to target the city. Simple as that.

    Or they are targeting the keyword ;)
