Yesterday i logged into my account and what the heck..? PayPal limited my account! Well they want the following documents: Valid Photo Id Driver's license National Identity Card Recent statement for the Visa Card Proof of address I can give all of these things but i verified my account using a VCC and i don't know how can i show proof of that CC. That's the only problem. I am a minor(not 18 years) but i am using my mother's Paypal account. Please help me. Edit : Today they limited my business account also. Both of my accounts have been limited.
Where did u buy ur vcc? You can check with the seller and try to ask him if they have your vcc statement. fxtrader
That's the problem with VCC. You should have used a real bank issued credit card, at least you have a statement with that account. Just tell paypal that you bought your VCC from reachpradeep and provide his email address and ask them to contact him for clarification It looks like Paypal found you out and now you are done for. Take it as a lesson and forget about the account. At least learn to take responsibility and take contracts seriously. Never use fake IDs like VCC especially if it is unverified and it is not your bank issued one to begin with.
@ eddy2099 : I don't think they found out. Actually i had $900+ in my PayPal account and i heard from somewhere if you have more than $500, PayPal will limit your account and ask for documents to make it unlimited.
Well, you heard wrongly. I usually have over $2k in my Paypal account and I never got limited. It is month after month I have at least that amount, sometimes more. It is not the money which is the issue. It is most likely the VCC that you use. From what I am reading here, there are a number of cases of people who uses VCC and facing the same issue as you.
A VCC is a Virtual Credit Card. Technically those which are offered here in DP are mostly generated from the Indian HDFC Bank account holder's NetSafe Account. The NetSafe account offers the account holder protection for online transaction by allowing them to generate one-time usage credit card numbers. Once they are used, they cannot be reused so technically it would defeat the issue about credit card theft. Although the VCC numbers are supposed to be exclusively used by the account holders, some saw a loophole in the system as each set of the one-time credit card numbers provides anonymity which means they can enter any name or address with it. With this loophole in mind, they sell this one-time credit card numbers as VCC to people trying to defeat the Paypal verification system. Although the one-time number can only be used exclusively by the account holder, they ignore that just so as to make some money for themselves. However since the VCC numbers are one-time usage numbers, they come with a short expiry date and does not come with any physical card or statement of any form. There are also companies like ePassporte which offers Virtual Visa which is sort of a virtual credit card but has a longer expiry date usually over a year and is reloadable. Those are credit card accounts which can be reused over and over again.
Then that gives them more reasons to keep your account limited and probably frozen. I believe you understand the risk when you use a VCC and all that.
Well, you heard wrong. I am having two accounts and they both are having more than $1kfunds and I never got limited.
ok...well..i tried to remove the current VCC but paypal displays "page not found". :S I also don't have real CC.
If your account is already limited, they wouldn't let you go in and start deleting evidences. You really just need to uplift the limitation.
Hello, i will suggest you that tell all true to paypal like you bought VCC from a person by this forums, and you will see one paypal fax cover sheet in your paypal bcoz of this issue so write all statement there and make it print and fax on paypal fax no. hope they will listen to you Raj
I have got 2 accounts with over 2k that are limited, and cant get it back. Paypal are getting worse with limitations, they would be sitting on a fortune with these types of accounts and the interest. Anyone know what happens to these accounts after a period of time? Seems illegal they can just keep the money which does not belong to them.
The money is held for 180 days which would allow the buyers enough time to raise a dispute to get their money back. If there is no refund request within the 180 days, you will have the ability to withdraw the money provided you did not use any fake information during sign up or any fake documentation. The purpose of the withholding of your balance is for the protection of the customers.
