I just made a new site about screensavers and was looking for ideas to get traffic to the site. Anyone got any ideas? I'd be willing to pay some amount but don't know where a good place to advertise is.
Here are a few things you can do to really boost your traffic: - SEO - Forum sig - blog - Social bookmarking sites (use digg for short term traffic like about a day or two and use stumble upon for long term traffic) - Try and crack JV deals - Get lots of Affiliates to promote your product and pay them 50% or whatever you wish per sale. - Blogrush (This is John Reese's new widget it brings free traffic to your blog) - Submit articles to several article directories (this might help you a bit with your seo too). Once you start generating free traffic keep on testing and tracking this traffic once you know what your conversion rate is then you can work out a massive adword campaign like if your sales page is really converting then adword will be the best source of traffic cause it will generate traffic instantly and you wont have to pay your affiliate or JV's nor will you have to do hard work of seoing and other stuff. But make sure you work out your conversion rate otherwise your PPC campaign can go sour and you might go into loss. So first test and track everything and then make a lot of money. These are just my suggestions end the end you have to decide what works for and what doesn't.
Here is my list of all my traffic methods, feel free to add to it if you can think of any: 1. PPC - AdWords marketing 2. Article submission 3. traffic exchanges - instantbuzz, trafficswarm 4. Press release 5. Safelists 6. Social Networks - myspace, facebook, apsense, directmatches 7. Blogging 8. Bookmarking - digg, reddit, stumplupon 9. Squidoo 10. Directory Submission 11.
