As I previously said, a hacked copy is not necessarily a pirated one. This would be the case if it were a pirated one, but thats not what the thread is about. No, because AFAIK Apple tries to outlaw the hacking explicitly in their license agreements. Why? Anybody can buy Mac OS, you dont need the actual hardware. Actually I am still wondering what should be that great about Mac OS. Nobody could even explain actual facts which would make it that great but there are always only generalised and subjective arguments given. Sorry, but just look at Lordy's posting.
It is in this case. It is by definition, a pirated one, because there is no way to get hold of a legit one. Exactly, so there's no way of it being legit. Apple forbid people to install it on anything other than a mac, and the chances of a pc user legitimately buying are about nill. Same here. lol, I find that quite amusing.
Yes it is many people who switch to mac switch because theya re like "wow its a mac it looks awesome and it gets less viruses than windows i want one"
Hacking a software is different. That is why Apple cannot get people who hack their iPhone. The only thing they can do is try and stop you from selling the hack.
Yes, but downloading a whole copy of an OS without paying is piracy. Apple could sue, and win, for that.
arguing over OSX vs Vista is like trying to discuss politics and religion. They are both great OS's when it comes to price/quality/etc. All it is is personal preference...
Yeah but say you bought it legit and hacked it. Once you're not selling the hacked software you're fine.
Yes, if you did that, it would be OK. However, that is unlikely to be the route that the vast majority of people take.
Hmm, heres what i say... (i have a new macbook. I transfered from windows) Windows... - Installing skype, firefox or msn? Spare 15 - 20 minutes. Ohhhh very heafty work. Download, go through each installation process, restart pc! ARRRR! Mac... - Download, drag to applications folder. (2 mins for all 3 apps) Dont even get me started on uninstalling for windows. Mac, drag to trash. END OF!
I wonder what are the specs on your mac versus Windows. I can install programs in less then 4 minutes....and these are not small aps.
I think he is talking about how easy is to install programs in OSX and yes it's easy On the Linux side (in the case of Debian/Ubuntu distros) with the .deb packages you can install software with a click of a mouse. For example Skype, I have upgraded over the past 4 months 3 versions with just 2 mouse clicks in Ubuntu. The apt-get or the Synaptic Package Manager is also easy to install and upgrade software available for free. Firefox, Thunderbird, FileZilla you download the archive, decompress and double click the binary executable. No installation needed.
