Change <title> in Article live CMS for better SEO

I use "articlelive CMS" in one site:

http://www.growhydroponicgarden.com

i change the <title> in template like this:

<title>%%Page.WindowTitle%%</title>
<title>%%Page.WindowTitle%% |%%GLOBAL_ArticleTitle%%</title>

HTML:

in the articles.html templates.

i change the "categories.html"

to something like that:

<title>%%GLOBAL_CategoryName%% | PLACE SOME GOOD KEYWORD PHRASE</title>

HTML:

the result are a better title result in google, with more information and more relevant to the actual article

1) do you think its better SEO?
2) sometime the title are the same as subtitle "Getting Started With Seeds | Getting Started With Seeds" it may be a problem? repeting the keyword in title?
3) did someone use Articlelive as CMS? with good result?

This is better SEO wise, I'd personally remove the | and use a -
