I said before there is no real reason to upgrade unless you are buying a new computer in which case it will probably come pre-installed.
All you did was repeat the same things over and over.... BTW most if not all the reasons to upgrade dont have to do with vista... Another thing is you talk alot about using the media player to record tv... watch it on your computer... ect... Well you need a 3rd party component to do this... not just vista... It would also make no sense to use the media player with a tv tuner when most tv tuners come with software that is made just for that tv tuner...
And 2 reasons to counter all those reasons : 1) It's buggy ! Because it's a microsoft brand and it's new! You need at least 2 service packs for it to be stable 2) It uses up massive ammounts of CPU ! Your computer will take hours to load up and there are so many functions of windows vista XD
Myself too;my own experience. In general I make my computer myself, but I needed a new computer fast (I didn't find components fast) so I buyed a already made computer with Vista. Vista is just a nice interface, don't spend money on it(if you don't get preinstaled) I haded problems with drivers of my soundcard,DVD-RW and my printer - 2007 model(after I print something my computer freeze). For a computer Quad Core E6700, with 4 GB RAM and Geforce8800GT I got a quality score of 5.6. and it use 1.5 GB of RAM(excluding antivirus, and other programs another 0.5 GB) . What was in the heads of engineers from Microsoft when they released this junk(it is more bad than WindowsMe). I need RAM and power for Adobe Products and real games not for Solitaire.I tested with the clasic interface (no effects) but Vista is like a vampire for system resources. And about the security , without a good security suite , Vista is a welcome medium to malware. They have implemented something new, everytime I make some (sensibile changes - I write programms and sometime I access some resources) or my computer crashed (remain block, - no blue screen ) or appear the dialog with the Administrator permision(even on simple stuff like copy some files in TCommander, instal software like Winamp this dialog appear)
Im running Vista on my E4300 @ 3Ghz with 2GB Ram, runs fine except for compatibility issues with some programs. I think vista just needs some time. It will improve with SP1
Vista is hands-down the best operating system Microsoft has created yet. IMO it's much better than XP ever was. I've been using it since March 2007 and besides the occasional blue screen of death and lock up, it's been fairly stable. Just as stable as XP was, at least.
Then you either haven't read them or you're clueless. Half those reasons are duplicates, a quarter aren't actually advantages, and the rest aren't actually to do with Vista. You've hit exactly on my problem, and why I don't use vista.
Which programs ? I must run Dreamweaver 4, Fireworks 4, Photoshop 5.0 and Windows pack office 2000 without problem Is it possible ?
Nero and some games and other small programs. The ones you mentioned should run fine. Dreamweaver and Photoshop work fine for me.
I thought wINDOWS always did that...one way or another... Wow, whats that, is it a new feature? The 100 things posted here are pretty much 10 things repeated over and over. All I really get from reading this it... Play games(ok....) Security(k....) Eye Candy, rotate your desktop(who cares! Ubuntu has tones of that) Find things better(ok thats cool, never really had trouble before though) Tabbed Browsing(wwwwwoooowwwwww, FireFox FTW) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UBUNTU FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
