I just noticed that the alexa rank here is 200 at the moment. I remember it being 107 at one time. Does this mean that less people are visiting or that more webmasters have uninstalled the alexa tool bar? I don't think the traffic has died down any so what would the explanation be?
Its just that nowadays there are alot of webmaster forums available on net, although i don't think its a treat to DP yet as dp still is no.1 webmaster forum.
Traffic does seem to be going down this month though. http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?c=1&f=555555&u=digitalpoint.com&r=6m&y=r&z=3&h=300&w=610 The only way to get DP higher is to install the toolbar: http://www.alexa.com/site/download
Lower is better by far. If we all go get the toolbar, we can more than likely get DP's alexa rank back to under 200.
I think this may be the reason too, although I doubt many webmasters have uninstalled the toolbar. Anyone else have any theories?
That's the only theory. Without having a lot of users browsing with the toolbar installed and running, your ranking will go up.
Another reason may be that Alexa's popularity has just died down and all the new webmasters that come here don't have the toolbar. I honestly don't see people removing the toolbar. Many webmasters that were here a year ago have moved on to different things. It obviously seems that Alexa is not as popular as it once was.
