America is taking a beating on the world stage. As I think on and feel deeply for my country, I'd like to ask, and am genuinely curious: Members, what do you feel is good about America? About Americans?
Though I have not stayed long enough in America to tell you what's good about it but living in Canada gives me good understanding to judge what's good in America. The people are hospitable, caring, helping.. They have the urge to progress. Sadly, they have been fed so much of the "American lifestyle" that they have forgot thinking for themselves. It's all bout the $... No real values.
Nothing is good here. America is like a nicely wrapped gift package, pretty on the outside but empty on the inside. If you want to become a slave come to America, fascism is in full bloom here. My days in this country are numbered, I'm migrating elsewhere. Been here long enough.
Then why are you advocating the election of a presidential candidate, may I ask? A parting gift? I won't chime in here, or I will try not to - I'd rather hear what others have to say. I was born here, I feel our struggles and our contributions as a people, and I do love my land. I will only offer I think we are an essentially decent people, a young people (still), with a young person's courage, energy, eyes and heart. Such a nature, both blessed and cursed with a youthful naivete, can express a selfless hope, and it can move, in its unbridled strain, to a regretful evangelism.
Great general. And a great test of democracy. A conquering general that willingly reverts authority back to the civil, democratic polity.
The Constitution is great. The Declaration of Independence is great. The passion and spirit of the people (when awakened) for freedom and liberty is great. Innovation is great. Entertainment is great. Home grown girls with large breasts from a steroid fed meat supply is wonderful. NASCAR is great. The story behind the Star Spangled Banner is great.
From a nation only a couple of hundred years old? if anything the "history" is what is bad about America. America doesn't have any culture or history beyond Mtv and fast food establishments, it's not their fault, they are a young country, But "history" certainly isn't something America can be proud of.
Call this silly but I like the super tall signs along the freeways that indicate gas stations. You don't see that in other countries where they place so many restrictions on businesses. I guess I love the freedom for free enterprise.
Let's remember which country saved your a$$ against Nazis, then Marxists. Your memory is much shorter than US History.
Fast food, Dr Phil and Oprah! No seriously, so far all the American I met were really friendly, the greatest entertainment is from there and like I said before.. fast food! <3
