Bid High or Optimize Quality?

Would you rather spend upwards of $1.00 per click for poor quality advertisements, or optimize your quality and decrease your bids to $.05-.10 per click?

Personally, I am not all that great with this whole PPC thing, so I'm working on it instead of spending $1 per click.

    What do you think?

The bad news is that you'll have to do both!

You see if you bid high then you'll be in the top spot and you'll have a better CTR (therefore thorough time you'll spend less) and if you have optimized your AD and landing page your CPC will decrease quickly (and your conversion improve); while your CTR will still be high because you will maintain your top spot..

    Hope this is clear:p

do both ... optimize your quality score first and foremost and then
test your bidding to find your 'sweet spot'

Yep Bid High. However you can end up spending a lot of $ trying to collect. What you should do first is bid only on Exact key words. You can test your ads and landing pages in the mean time while upping your CTR. After your campaign is tuned, then you can go phrase, then broad.

Wouldn't there be a problem with your quality score dropping due to different matching? It seems like the relevancy might go down the toilet if you broadened your match.
