Readers can get updated news/articles in their inbox when you post a new article, its a great way to get to your readers if you constantly update your content

RSS is a standard for syndicating frequently updated content from a site via a newsreader. For more information http://www.whatisrss.com/

RSS means making your Really Simple for Splogging :( I am beginning to hate RSS for what it is. It will help your readers to read your blog from their readers and sploggers to start their own niche blogs based on your content.....

How about syndicating only a part of your posts? Wouldn't that stimulate them to visit the actual site?

I use RSS in order to let people know when I update my site with new articles and online tools. However, I don't know how many people are actually using the RSS to get to my site [it is updated manually].

I only publish the beginning of a post to my RSS feed. Mainly I do this for the feed scrapers, like theanand mentioned. I doubt the tibits that go out via RSS will entice anyone to come visit, since they don't contain the photos the posts are about.

That's probably true for most sites. People use RSS readers to avoid going to your site. The idea in publishing them is that name recognition is still a good thing. That's not really the case for most sites, but.....
