You need to understand, the average person signing up for webhosting is not even going to know what e-gold is, never mind having an account.

If you don't accept paypal, credit cards, google checkout or some other main stream payment your business will fail. There are thousands of webhosts out there, nobody is going to go with a complicated payment system, creating an egold account, then funding it etc. They will just hit "back" on their browser and go with one of your competitors.

    Hello,

I know this, and this is what i am afraid of.. But should i accept E-Gold, Moneybookers, Google Checkout, Paypal all in once?

Or does it get kind of overwhelming?

    Thanks,
    Freddy

It might get a little confusing for them - you should never underestimate the stupidy of the general public. Plenty times I've set sites up that look idiot-proof, only for a bunch of idiots to come along and prove me wrong!

I'd probably take paypal and Google checkout, and not bother with the other two.

If you advertise your hosting on this forum then you could offer those payments here though.

Other than paypal moneybookers is really good, in fact in some ways it's much better than paypal(I think the fees also lower, but not sure), it also suppored in more countries than paypal, but unfortunately it's not that well known and popular, not many heard of it, which is a shame really.
Don't really know about e-gold, I have an account there, but never really used it, although I see quite a lot of people using it, but mostly domainers, so not sure if regular users even know about it.

As said above, open accounts on all three banks (to receive funds), because some people only have PayPal, some only have E-gold, and some only have MB. It's your personal decision what account you will use as your "main account".

    Some issues:

    1. PayPal is allowed only in some countries.
    2. To send more than $500, you need to verify account with your personal data, and you have to be 18+.
    3. When someone send you money, he/she can make a 'chargeback' - drag money from your account back to his/her acount. Well, you can do the same.
    4. You can fund your PP account by recieving money from someon's other PayPal or from your own Credit Card. You can withdraw money from your personal physical bank or with the PayPal debit card via ATM machine anywhere in the world (or you can simply buy somrthing online, like on e-bay).

    5. e-gold is available all over the world, no sending/receiving limits, 1% fee for all transactions. Payment is permanent, no chargeback possible. I have not heard that someone's EG account would be blocked...but it happened quite some times, it was hacked. If you strictly use safe method to type in your password (described there), I think, that EG is quite safe.
    6. e-gold is really simple to use, you have account in minutes. You fund it with receiving money from other EG accounts or with EG debit card (see reviews). You can withdraw money only with a debit card. Many people, use EG, especially in that 'pay to click' or 'pay to signup' earning, like here on Getpaidforum.

    7. Moneybookers is available only in some countries.

Just have to say thank you for that wonderfull amazing review of Paypal and E-Gold..

-> What should i stick with? Well as people say, i think i will need to go with Paypal, E-Gold, Moneybookers and Google Checkout to be able to offer everyone a quality host instead of just the paypal users...

Tough, i am still wondering how i am supose to get the money out of E-gold? Do you add your bank account? Or do you have to Trade with someone that wants to? :p

    Thanks,
    Freddy

You withdraw money from e-gold with one of e-gold debit cards, just scroll up to my previous post. It is e-gold company who send the card to you, you don't need any bank for that. The card is annonymous.

    Hello,

I read about the DWG Credit Card on their website... Basicly, i can buy this for 25$ ? Get it sent in my mail? And i can fund it by transfering the money from E-gold and use it on grossery stores and so on??

And, this card. It doesn't allow to go in minus or? Is there any age limit to have this card? (As i couldnt find anything, or anything asking for age during signup)

    Thanks,
    Freddy

You wont take many payments at all with e-gold, your best best is probably to just cash it out here on dp, trading it for paypal.

Yes, all e-gold cards are about $30, you get it by mail, it can be funded with e-gold and you can use it ONLY (but good enough) to withdraw money from the ATM machine with Cirrus/Maestro logo on it. There is no age limit, since they even don't ask you for any other info except for home adress to post it.

You have to understand that e-gold is not alternative for PayPal. The main online bank is PayPal, you can buy many things online with it, and there is really few places which accept e-gold. But someone may use e-gold as his/her only payment method, so to pay such a person or receive money from him/her, you may want to have e-gold. The good side of e-gold is that you can use it in any country.

For which particular e-gold debit card is good/reliable, I recommend you to open a new thread to hear opinions from actual users.
