If a large company decided to buy out all your web businesses would you sell out and move on - or would you stop coming online for a while and just retire? I'm talking about - let's say Viacom decided to buy out your site just like they bought out Neopets and various other sites to help boost their earnings and such, would you sell out or you keep your businesses?
If it was a good offer then probably yes because they would just screw you out of business if you didn't.
Well big companies have power and usually screw the littler guy out of business so if the offer is good take it
If it was several million I'd invest it or put it in Bonds or CDs or a high yield account to live off the interest. Then I'd go launch another site
Like Myspace did with Photobucket. By disallowing Photobucket content on myspace profiles, they took out a large source of traffic, driving down Photobucket's value, and scooping them up at a good deal.
like everyone else said here, it depends on the price offered. I'd sell for no less than half a million. And at that point I would probably use a fair amount of it to start other projects.
I'd sell it only if I got a good offer. Then I'd think about coming online the next day knowing I don't have to manage a web business anymore and see how it makes me feel.
Depends on the price. I would keep an interest in whatever I sold, that way, if it was ever resold I would retain a piece of that sale as well. I don't you should sell everything outright, unless of course the dollar amount is more than most small nations gross yearly. The ConsumerTreehouse.com Team
Good to see so many hungry people and not taking an offer... After 11 years and going through a few buyouts, YES I would sell and YES I would stop looking at screens for a while, it's business there's no room for emotional attachment. A few million? Really? That's a lottery, i could flip that easily or just live nice for years with safe investments too. If anyone has a few million lying around and wants buy a cool network of businesses - HIT - ME - UP! I asked a friend recently a similar question, and no matter what the amount, he still said 'no'. What's the point of all of this - to me it's to monetize and grow, not just grow, if it was enough to set me free from this crazy world for a generation or two you bet your bottom sig link i'd take it in a snap.
