ok so I'm going to answer your questions. All you have to do is sign up to thenewsroom and then click on "mash" on any news feeds or articles that you want on their site. Their rates are: CPM On Your Site CPM On Referred Site Video Feed $4.00 $1.00 Video Story $3.00 $0.50 Text Story $1.00 $0.50 Image $1.00 $0.50 I have posted on my blog about it if you want any more info click here Thank you for bringing that up, I actually do believe that 99% of the posts on DP are a waste of time. There are only 1% of posts on here that are really worth your attention. Think of how many crappy questions get posted hundreds of times, while there may only be one post in the adsense forum which will actually help you make money. DP isn't a waste of time, it's a good place to network. But you are right in saying that 99% of the posts on here are useless
Video Feed $4.00 (per 1000 plays, autoplay possible) Video Story $3.00 CPM Text Story $1.00 CPM Image $1.00 CPM They pay exactly that amount of money. Stats update once a day, though that's not really a problem because you can just multiply your site's visitors with the CPM. (it was also possible to find this info on thenewsroom.com, would be great if you repped me up for this copy paste service)
Thanks for that, I was think oh "Crap" what's he left for me LoL. See with my crap question ( I added to 99% of junk) and with your answer - you added to the 1% of good posts. So for another crap question, I notice that the previous site in this thread (that was used for an example) had several embeds, is that legal and within TOS. So can I have : All on the one page ? or do they limit to how many you can place on a page. Thanks again, Jason
I have around 6 of their articles showing on one of my sites. So I think we can all assume that they don't mind! I'm not sure they have the best quality control to be honest, but I'm not complaining! I have just posted a picture of the cheque on my blog so go and read it guys!
On one page do you mean ? Cos if I can do that, it's going to beat widget bucks - by the time they drop my figures into the $6cpm range - seems as though that's their plan.
yeah its on one page. if you get $6 with widgetbucks i would be inclined to stick with them. TNR only pay by cheque and you would have to put two feeds on one page (loading is slow) to beat that.
I think the main problem is the slow loading times. For me,if I could get the articles to load twice as fast, I would probably double my money. I don't think there's much we can do about that though..
Oh you can - you can layout elements in your page to load quicker (by simple design), or even insert some code to prompt what loads first / tell the page to load various elements first - I haven't had to yet - but I may Google for code soon.
I'm not sure how much that would help on my site, the widgets are the only things that take any time to load.... it would be good if they could try and reduce the size of their widgets like widgetbucks have done... it seems tnr haven't really progressed much, they still don't do paypal and their program is almost exactly the same as when they started. It's a shame but as long as they don't change their rates I don't care...
Jim, They won't send you an e-mail requesting you to send the W-8 tax form. What you have to do is tell them to give you a W-8 pdf file adn then send the form via Fax, I did it yesterday and they received it just ok.
monty2002: Can you show us your site wehre you have TNR? I cant believe you got paid for having 6 articles on the one page! scoutz: have you been paid yet? I noticed your embedded content is away down at the bottom of the page. Can anyone else post their sites with TNR on it?
I'm afraid I have a strict privacy policy on some of my sites and my TNR site is one of those. It's nothing special, it's just a simple site and the main content is the news articles (I choose articles that are interesting and people read them, simple really) The secret about my site is being able to generate the traffic to get those high CPM rates. My site isn't anything amazing and hasn't got much unique content, so generating the traffic is hard but with some of my methods it has become easy and I'm making a lot of money now. I am about to start writing an ebook which combines a number of different traffic generation techniques which I use for most of my sites and especially my TNR site. Sorry I can't give you the site, you're not missing out on anything, but I do have to have some secrets!
monty just out of curiousity were you displaying 6 articles and using your traffic technique whilst accumulating your first cheque? I read on your blog, you have made $900 since your first payment, so Im guessing you upped the ante so to speak on your traffic generation. You are from UK, what did it involve for you to recieve your payment, and how does the tax form affect UK residents and what does it require?
What I don't understand is how they can afford to pay those rates... Especially if people are allowed to place 6 ads all on the same page..
The traffic technique is very up and down at the moment and depends very much on how much work I put in. Also you should know that even though I am receiving two separate cheques, the money all comes from about 3 weeks of work which came from the end of august through the beginning of september so the money was split. Well I had to fill out the W-8 form which legally I don't think UK residents are eligible for, its something to do with the fact that the work to get the money wasn't conducted in the US. I asked them and they just told me to fill it out anyway! I now am having to do all sorts of UK tax law stuff. I have to declare myself as a trader and fill out uk forms and open up a bank account that I can put american cheques into. It's all a bit complicated but that comes from my side and is nothing to do with TNR. They just send me the cheque, it's up to me how I proceed after that. I don't know either tressin, but I think they have quite high advertising costs so it must be worth it to them. It worries me that soon when they become more popular their rates will drop .
Im sure UK banks accept American cheques, as many people I know have received cheques from Google for their AdSense earnings. Does TNR pay NET30? You said that you had your earnings at the beginning of September, then surely you should have received your cheque sometime last month.
Yeah its NET 30 but my cheque got delayed, they mucked up my address! I have been told my a few people that I can't cash in a cheque in dollars or something like that...
They don't really care where you put the feeds. I even got an email from them asking to put it the feeds back online when I removed them a few days.
