It never takes me months to see changes in SERPs, although it can take months to reach high ranking for competitive keywords. It usually takes me 1-3 days to rank for low competition keywords, pretty much just the time it takes for the page to be indexed.
I am monitoring the ranking of the blog post which got indexed and ranked in the first page of www.Google.com.SG in 17 minutes - SPH Search is coming! Watch out Google! 2 days ago it was listed in page 2 of www.Google.com. Today, it is ranked #8. So the ranking is improving. As for www.Google.com.SG, it is now ranked #5, risen from #8. I wonder how long it will stay in the top 10?
Hi live-cms, Thanks! How do you know there are only 100 competitors? P.S. www.blogopreneur.com is not mine.
If you search Google for intitle:"sph search" it says there is 100 pages which means that 100 websites are optimizing for that keyword. 100 optimized pages is easy to beat if you are good at SEO.
Hi live-cms, That's a smart way to do a quick check on the competitiveness of a keyword. I learn a new trick today. Thanks!
My site is also at top position in google but the keyword is not so popular try Social Networking Website Development KY
Something similar happened with me once when I added a post on my Blog for SEO Jokes. I did not track exactly how long it took for my blog to rank on page 1 on Google for the KW SEO Jokes, but approximately, it took it less than 6 hours to be there Its not such a highly competitive KW to brag about, but my blog is at number 3 and 4 on Google now
The amateur can get his page there in 17 minutes. The pro can make sure it's there in 17 months as well. -- SEO Proverb
enigmabomb, Hehehe... You just qualified me as a pro?! My site has been top 2 for the last 26.75 months for several keywords related to futures trading. However, I am still an Amateur because I to do it for fun and not for money. How sad!
