My only thoughts about having a fully modded package is that you will have a lot of mods that you don't use. This will in turn slow load times and viewing pleasure for visitors.

Joomla is excellent... as it can integrate much more into a site than WordPress.... mind you... it is a little learning curve to work with.

I dont go through a lot of changes to install joomla anyway. Both of My hosting services already have cpanel installed with fantastico. Install is quick dirty and in a hurry. I use ifeelgod.mykioskhosting.com or ifghosting.com both are great

    Hi,
you should be careful about installing Joomla with too many mods on it. It can make your site more likely to be hacked and having too many modules [even if they are not turned on] can slow down the page load times.

That is true, but every 3rd party component or modules/hack adds a potential backdoor for a hackers. So make sure you carefully look at what is being installed. You don't want your e-commerce site hacked.
