High end arcade site for sale - $900/month revenue

Discussion in 'Sites' started by korzon, Oct 30, 2007.

Two year old arcade site - www.playedonline.com is for sale.

The site has been growing consistently since creation in both revenue and traffic and currently has the following monthly statistics:

    Pageviews: 700,00
    Absolute uniques - 125,000
    Revenue: $900

50% of traffic comes from the US and another 35% comes from the UK, Canada and Australia (20%, 10% and 5% respectively).

Bandwidth usage is about 225GB/month and the site is hosted on one dedicated server costing 99$/month at OC3networks

All of the hosted games (about 3,000) are freely distributed games. The site is based on a version of gamesitescript and is running on PHP/MySQL/Apache.

The majority of traffic comes from Google as the site ranks very well for the terms "Free Games" and "Free Online Games". Most inbound links to the site have been established using one of the following methods:

    1. Article submissions.
    2. Press releases.
    3. Organically (without my involvement)
    4. Directory submission.

The minimum bid for this site is $25,000 - the site will not be sold for less. The BIN price is $40,000.

Statistics are available over e-mail for potential buyers only (please do not request them if you're not willing to make an offer above $25K).

Escrow fees will be split between the buyer and seller.

I would perfer inquires and bids via e-mail (webmaster [at] playedonline.com)

Thank you for your response. Proof of revenue is available, but since you've indicated you're not willing to bid over the minimum bid I've set it seems like a waste of time.

    $40,000 bin, haha.

Those must be some wicked directory submissions.

Best of luck getting a bidder (or a BINner), but I don't see it happening.

Nobody gonna starting betting at $25K. Its too much for $900 making site. If you can reduce the initial bid, may be I can think on.

Also, can you post a screenshot of REFERRALS please.

You guys are putting irrelevant posts.
If the owner wants to sell for $40K, it's his own decision.
Yes, we all know that for $40K, we can buy sites producing about $15K/month, but the owner may have his own reasons, that sometimes we don't know, but when explain, make total sense...

For example, I'm selling my 2001 laptop for $50,000.
If I have no buyer, no problem because I really need it...
If I have a buyer, no problem, I make lots of money...
Both scenario make sense for me...

No Codythebest, my post is completely relevant. I am making a point that what he is asking is expensive and if he can reduce the price I can bid. So I am showing my interest in bidding. Is it irrelevant? Now read your post, and tell me what the the relevance of that with the sale on this thread?

I am communicating with the thread owner, and you are communicating with others, which is not required.

    So lets be on topic.

You want to bid where you and the seller know it's not going to happen. So, yes, it may be relevant...but it's a waste of time right there...

I appreciate the sympathy Cody but it's really not neccessary. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and as a seller I value feedback as much as I value bids. Not to mention every reply equals a bump - I already have a few interested parties thanks to this thread.

When I said $15K, I wanted to say about 3 months of revenue.
There are hundreds of sites for sale out there. The sold ones are sold for about 3 months of revenue...
I'm selling one right now for about 2 months of revenue, but there are more out there...

Basically, after reading some well-written articles about "Buying websites / re-do / earn more".. basically you will never bid something over 10 times the monthly revenue, that might be $9000 (I doubt).

The thing is, korzon can post anything as a price over here, it's his decision and well I respect it and not going to make any fun of it.. good luck, I pass on, just sharing some thoughts.

PS: This might be some marketing technique to bring traffic as well, who knows?!

The max the site is worth is $9k (900 X 10). Also you think you would post stats if you wanted to sell it for that much.
    Sounds like a:
    S
    C
    A
    M

    Nice domain name though :)

wow it's one thing expressing your opinion on my asking price and calling me crazy - but calling me a scammer? That's pushing it a little I think.
