so majority of my traffic is coming from google and i noticed that's because google has more of my site indexed then yahoo does.

google's indexed 4,770 pages of my site http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.advancespeedshop.com&hl=en
while yahoo's only indexed 234 pages of my site
    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...peedshop.com&bwm=p&bwms=p&fr=lo&fr2=seo-rd-se

i've added sitemaps and made it so that the site is seo friendly. what am i doing wrong? or is it a wait game and yahoo is just more picky?

teaching an elephant to fly or an eagle to SCUBA dive might be easier than getting Y to index all pages. Y simple lacks the power, resources, and philosophy to accomplish such a great task as G does.

Even MSN/live now has surpassed Y results in referrers as a result of MSN's recent multiplication of crawl-efforts

Y eventually may have more and pages from your site - but it may take many months or many years and never may get near your real number of pages and also may always be many months behind real time publishing efforts.

    true ! see:

    > whois icio.us
    Domain Name: ICIO.US
    Registrant Organization: Yahoo! Inc.

    del. = sub.domain of icio.us

    btw
another method to easier get into more major SE is to have your OWN account in
    myYahoo
    myGoogle
    myMSN
    ... etc

and then ADD your own RSS-feed into your own account
hence that SE has to grap YOUR feed to display in your myXYZ.. account

no guarantee - but it works and helps in some cases and is FREE

    and

by adding a widget in your blog or feeds like the one
    AddThis.com
    http://www.addthis.com/

this replaces ALL major "add to" widgets in one step

    i agree
the BOT activity from all 3 is large - large enough to give reason for hope - but hope is no food for the soul - facts are and Y and MSN simply are too slow in getting bot activity converted into final indexing results and latter one into generic human traffic

I enjoy since years HUNDREDS of top10-top20 SERPS on a huge variety of actually used keywords relevfant to my site
    yet
it is the popularity of the SE that makes Y and MSN drop far behind.

    but

as posted a while earlier here MSNbot was a short burst of a month's MUCH more active botting

the amazing now is that while slurp was normal active as usual
almost at same day, may be 3-4 days ago BOTH SE startet a head to head race in IMPROVING indexing pages and BOTH started substantially sending more traffic
the funny is both started same day and bot almost head to head racing
FAR behind G but racing to catch UP
result= another 10% traffic increase the last few days :)

no bots shouldn't get session ID's .. that option has been turned off for them. yahoo has some sites listed for my oscommerce .. but it's minimal compared to google. we are right now contemplating on whether or not to sign up for yahoo's directory or not if it ACTUALLY does get us indexed more. comments on that?

actually lol i just read the post below and it said it wasn't worth it =P
