What are your views on it. I think it is ending, but who knows.

Rap or hip-hop? Rap is pretty much dead, hip-hop and RnB are picking up.

^^ I think you're getting confused with rap and hip hop.

It's the other way around. Hip hop is going down, and rap is going up.

    Sure, in terms of popularity.

I think hip-hop is just evolving as it has always done.
I still feel more of the old school stuff though.

Hip-hop is dead after they started making retarded songs starting with the Chicken Noodle Soup song. Now every song is about getting money.

Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 cent, P Daddy etc are all rappers. Their music is hip-hop however. You can rap to jazz and rock music and it will be rap but never hip-hop. In a way all hip-hop has rap in it but rap itself does not have to be hip-hop. I guess historically speaking Rap was more about the artist and the lyrics, with a distinct beat to it and hip-hop being a bit more scratchy/DJ style. IMHO

    People argue both ways however.

They are closely related, but when you say rap, you refer to commercialized rap mostly like women, cars and money.

Rap is going down, but the new Hip Hop is going up.
