I didn't know Googlebot can be so fast in getting a page into the index and ranked in the top page.

    Read about it here:

    http://www.blogopreneur.com/2007/11/01/googles-1st-page-in-17-minutes/

Maybe the keywords is not so popular and competitive. But still, there were 2,000,000 other results.

So, it is not exactly true that SEO takes months to see benefits.

Any one else have similar experience?

What was the fastest time it took you to get into Google top 10?

If you have keyword term that not alot of others have exact same term you can get to top of google fast. If site is listed on site spidered by google daily it can get listed very fast.

its not possible to get ranked on that position in 17 minutes. it takes time. however, if yuo have an already established site which is ranked already and got its own PR, then based on existing ranking of your site, it helps boost the ranking of other internal pages.

think about it, if you have a PR5 site, then an internal page which is one click away would be PR4 meaning ranking is being transferred to the other pages of the site.

if you want to know how competitive that term is put it in quotations then search

just because 2 million sites have search or sph in it doesn't mean anything

the term is just non competitive

Keep in mind that your PR has nothing to do with your SERP's either.

The fastest for me has been 10 minutes or less. The competition is
over 2 Million and the page was placed on 14th position. Now it has slipped to 18th after 15 days or so.

Congrats. Try to keep it up. Watch your keyword and maybe one day or two your keyword will be in the #10.

Amazing, 17 minutes is really, really fast.

One of my articles got on the first page (#9 position) out of more than 55MIL results in just 5 days and I was thinking that was great... but getting on the first page in 17 minutes...

    Thanks for all the responses.

Yes. I think sph search is not a popular and competitive keywords.

However, the point is Google updates their SERPs very quickly.

If you Do have an authority site, and you craft your web page carefully, you will have a good chance to get it into the top 10 in a matter minutes even for more competitive keywords.

And , if you Do Not have an authority site, you can go for the Long Tail keywords. Sometime, it may be more profitable to go for less competitive keywords. I guess "sph search" can be considered as in the Long Tail.

Understanding Google fast indexing and ranking capability can be used to our advantage. I believe this can be a very powerful technique in getting visibility to your target audience in a short time.

Before this, I thought it will take days, if not weeks, to get into the top ranking of Google.

Let's all try to see how quickly we can get ranked for the keywords: sph search.

For those who have a blog, why not try to write about "sph search" and see how quickly you can get your page into the top 10 of www.google.com.sg

I just checked the search terms sph search at www.google.com.sg and that post, www.blogopreneur.com/2007/11/01/sph-search-is-coming-watch-out-google/ is now ranked No. 7.

Maybe this forum thread will get into the top 10 too! ;)

Not quite, the main site google.com shows results that are more authoritative if you got on the 1st page through a subsite like different tlds .sg, .co.uk..etc that only means you have quite high authority in that country or your site was the result that pleased the searchers the most, clicks on results changes serps as well dont forget that.

Unless you hit #1 on .com it really doesn't matter all that much.

Google index is being updated very fast, I'd say. Here is an update to my post above - my blogs page disappeared from Google because Google now indexed eZineArticles page with that article (I submitted the article to ezinearticles and posted it on my blog as well). I guess this means that my blog is now hit with the duplicate content penalty....

    I don't get what you're saying.

What is it that doesn't matter?

Of course, we all want to be at #1 on www.goggle.com, www.google.com.sg, www.google.co.uk and etc. And I think it matters to be at #2, #3, #4,... or #29 for the targeted keywords as quickly as possible in whatever google main site or sub sites.

Google uses geotrageting for users so if you are in the uk you will automatically be redirected to google.co.uk if you are in the us youll get to .com
when geo targeting is not working everyone is led to the .com version

    every tld like .com...co.uk...sg
they all have DIFFERENT results on that keyword with different datacenters as well.

So if you aren't ranking in the top 10 on the .com tld it doesnt matter because the real traffic and exposure lies in the .com ranking.

    Gnet,

    Thanks!

    I can understand now.

So if I have a site about "search" that ranked in the first page of www.google.com, then when I create a new page on sph search, the page will do well in the www.google.com and also www.google.ccTLD.

On the other hand, if my page is listed in the first page of www.google.ccTLD then it may not be that easy to get into the first page of www.google.com.

One of my blogspot blogs made the first page with in an hour of its launch. I am not sure the exact time but I checked it an hour after staring it and it was on the first page. Even though there may be millions of results it does not always mean for the exact term. So if the exact term is not very popular than you will see a quick jump in the index.

I am wondering how popular the keyword "dota base" is :D I do not think you are getting more then 1 SE referral in like 10 years. It is very simple to rank in #1 for a low-to-none competition keywords. Try doing the same for keywords like "make money", "online dating", etc....
