Yahoo Publishers beware!

I have been a publisher with yahoo since 11/15/05 do you want to know how much I have in my account? A measly $4.50.

But I keep there ads on my pages just in case. Is this stupid or what?

BTW, I also am a publisher with adsense. I do not put both on the same page, I alternate them on pages, directories and the like.

I.e what kinda ads are you targeting with Yahoo to your site? If they don't have a surplus of ads to be relayed to your site they throw other things up and if then don't go hand in hand with your sites content.. you won't get anyone to click.

I know it is a day to day thing. I watch mine like a hawk and throw out ads all the time that don't have a damn thing to do with mine. It is even more hard now in that 2 months ago or a little more.. Yahoo took away my ability to steer ads to my site. I have strictly use Keywords and get rid of the ads that have nothing to do with Corpsman.com

Thanks for the heads up. Problem for me is that I have to many sites. So once I create it and put it on auto pilot I forget it. I cant hawk over my sites like that. But then again, maybe I should.

    Thanks again.

That nicely explains your low earnings. Think about it.

I think warning people over your low earnings might be going a little too far here. The problem is probably much more unique to you and your sites than the Publisher network as a whole.

Replies and comments are right on.

Number one there is no possible way we can even give any kind of advice due to a lack of pertinent data.

Revenue from ads depends on so many variables:

    TRAFFIC
    Keywords targeted
    niche
    ad network etc

Some niches perform better on different networks, I have some that do better on Yahoo than Google - Some I ONLY put CB ads or eBay on.

You cannot just FORGET about them.

You couldn't honestly have believed that $20 a click would last long could you?

How much is your adsense compared to your YPN?

When YPN first opened up i read there ToS like CRAZY and saw they had no mention of banning MFA(er i guess MFY) sites. I created 2 - one for niche insurance and one for niche lawsuits. The insurance one was brining in 350 a day, with the average click being for 30 dollars. The lawsuit one brought in 100 a day, with the average click being 25 dollars. This lasted for a year.

Then uh... Google kicked me out or something since no one was showing up at my site anymore. I used 'swap clicking' for the most part so when Google wouldnt let me advertise the site anymore, i was done. But by then the PPC were dropping to a measly 10 dollars and such. Fun times. Good thing it happened when i was young since i was dumb and thought it was going to continue and dropped out of school and bought a house.... once it stopped, my life pretty much came to screeching halt... now back at college working for my networking degree, haha.
