Who controls the internet? If by 'control' you mean....make the internet work....then, like it or not, the search engines do! That not a cute of smart answer, I know, but take them all out of the net now, and none of our sites would ever get found by anyone --Glen
i think you all are dumb saying webmaster ,google rules the internet i dont think so i think its the end user who rule the internet ask it yourself for whom do you make your websites , for whom google penalizes link sales you must have got the enswe , its the end user magic
I am liking what I am reading here. I actually posted the same question to Yahoo answers a little while ago and did not get the response that I had hoped for, but the bottom line answer was correct, IMHO. Not everybody will agree, as shown by other opinions on this thread. For those that see the light, does it change the way to bring new products and ideas to the marketplace? H
No one person alone controls the net... google controls its area of the net, as do webmasters, and as do end users. End users are what drives product development and innovation... webmasters find ways to deliver said content... and google is the middle man. And who is the wealthiest of the three? Always the middle man... It would be nice to get rid of the middle man... oh what a day that would be.
That is true, but the collective body of people determine the future of the internet. To many Google, MSN, Yahoo, Amazon may appear tall and mighty. No disputing they are. The reason that they are so strong is all of their people (employees) are part of one primary goal. The people that spend time and money on the internet (driving force) tend to form there own groups that interest them. Make no mistake if ALL those people decided to stop using the internet the strength of these giants would become much less. That said the money they have already made from people by being the middle man would likely feed their families for generations to come. I agree with your middleman theory . H
The US government controls the internet, for now. They will not be allowed to do that forever though and in the future the control will switch between countries year for year.
I don't like that at all. I think it should be another aspect of the UN or something like that so all countries (that are not harboring terrorists) to get my point across could be involved in the decisions concerning the internet. By that I simply mean that countries that are for the most part decent countries and stable (not war torn) will be able to manage and oversee the internet. That is all we need is to give control of the internet to a terrorist farm.
Control is a relative thing really People, Groups, organisations, governments, hackers, crackers whoever all have partial control over bits of the net.. At the end of the day i don't think anybody is in control. The very nature of the net makes it uncontrollable, which IMO is good, any organisation given complete control of the net would abuse the power..
Well google is my homepage. Has been forever. So essentially the rest of the internet rests on google.
