How to check how old a domain is?

    Do a Whois on the domain name and see when it is first registered. That should give you an indication on how old the domain name is.

    I use http://www.allwhois.com but any respectable domain name registrar would have a Whois facility for you to use.

    You can also use wayback.com and see what sort of content used to be associated with the domain name at different times.

    agreed, domaintools have a lot of good features, arranged in a better way than usual whois sites :)
