Should I do a 301 re-direct

I know that google likes domain names that have your keywords in them. I have now made it to google in the top 5 for some of my keywords but my domain name is just my domain. I have had it for about a year. I also purchased hollandmihomes.com around the same time and it was showing that it was a 3.5 year old domain. Would I benefit by having a domain name with the keywords in it, or is it not worth taking the risk at this point because I am having good rankings? I'm thinking long term and I don't want people to pass me just b/c I dont have a good domain name. Thanks for your help.

Having a relevant keyword in your domain definitly helps you a lot. And if the other domain is older than it helps even more. I would take the risk, it might take some time for google to get it but if the change is done your ranking will surely improve.

As you're already in the top 5, I wouldn't risk it.

Good SEO and some relevant Links will get you to top 2 positions and if your matter is relevant you might get up to position one as well

As you are coming in top 5, you can do more sincere efforts in getting to slot 2 but if you decide to do 301 redirect, it will take some time to get on top for your keywords as your rankings would slip away after 301 redirect but will recover after a while. It may take up to 1 month or may be more in recovering for your keywords.

Although there is no fixed time frame for the rankings to come up again for keywords after 301 redirect but if you can cope with the traffic loss for this period, then it's fine.

I have to agree, that seems pretty risky. Just focus on good SEO and good quality links.
