Have come to the conclusion that buying links from DP is not a very good way to increase PR - at least, not for me! Am new to link buying, but read all the threads relating to the subject carefully, then dipped my toe in the water and bought a few - checking the sites carefully (or so I thought!). One PR 6 site seems to have completely disappeared. One PR5 site is now PR2. One PR3 is now PR2, another PR1. Fortunately, had not bought many links, but unfortunately, I did pay most of them for one year. I guess it's now back to the drawing board for me to work out other ways of building PR. Also, if I do buy links again, it will be a month or two at a time!
Most people do not buy them for PR, they buy them to advertise their site. If you are looking for just PR it will fade as soon as the signature is dropped. Look at it for advertising and it works great to promote your site or to get a new site indexed in teh Search Engines.
DP can provide great exposure of new web sites. It can bring huge traffic towards your web site, and I know that most of the users buy it for traffic, and not PR. Meti
Matt b said it best. When it comes down to PR I don't really think it means anything in the end. Forget pr for a sec lets look at the end goal of purchasing link. it's not for PR it's to get users and traffic. I don't care if I have a PR of -10 all I want in the end is users and traffic from the links and PR isn't going to get me either. Screw PR and buy the links to keep your site alive and running good.
One man said PR is something like love, you can't buy it for good.. It comes together with your traffic, when you get vistors to your site, It interests them all your job is done, because they will promote it for you..
The PR in the tool bar is a waste of time, buy links from sites that rank well, then you know it has trust from google
Site PR to me seems good if your trying to sale it to someone that is trying to increase there site PR for sales profit. It does not bring traffic to your site.
PR is useless in terms of ranking your site. i would not say buying link from DP is useless, i think buy sell links section of the forum is a great place to get some quality links. when i buy links, i do that not for PR, not for traffic, but for link building. more one way backlinks i have from related sites, better ranking my site gets on SE. and when u buy links based on PR, check to see whether you are buying form a dropped domain or not. lot of scammers are selling links on droped domains and PR on those sites don;t last long. you can check to see whether the site you are buying link from is a dropped domain or not by enterring the URL on the wayback machine here http://www.archive.org/index.php if you see sifferent page on the wayback machine than what the site currently displays, then more than likely its a dropped domain
Exactly and in the end who cares about Google anyways. Would you seriously consider sacrificing promoting your site and website traffic to only get page rank? pfff I don't think so, Google is overrated anyways
You need to be more careful who you buy from and do more due diligence on the sites because there are many folks that misrepresent themselves. I would ask for refunds if you feel someone scammed you. Also remember you tend to get what you paid for, so if you bought high PR links at low prices that is why they were cheap in the first place. good luck
I'm going to have to agree with everyone in that PR is not really important. Most people want traffic and links , not PR.
There is no doubt that they can definitely get that traffic from Forums, especially DP. Plus you get extra Google search results from posts in DP. If you were on a forum for a few years and racked up several thousand posts linking back to your site, then that would definitely create traffic for your site. You also don't have to pay to post on this site, so why buy a link? Just contribute valuable content to the forum and add your site to your signature. Every link you add on whatever sites that might be is a chance for a number of people to see your website every single day. But you have to do it regularly to make it worthwhile. If you stop posting after you reach say 1000 posts, then eventually your posts will fall out of view like search engine results and not generate traffic. If you create content on your site that people want to link to for a reason, then you will create a lot natural backlinks that you won't have to pay for. Example is Adobe and their Flash Player and PDF Reader.
