Someone mentioned those that take part in the Politics and Religion thread as being a "bunch of wackos". So, here I am asking my fellow wackos if you feel we are a bunch of wackos. I'm fragile, please be kind.
I haven't visited this section for a year as I found it to be infiltrated by some - not all - wackos. Sadly there's people who have clocked up post counts of thousands and specialise in vengeful remarks about others. Instead of trying to build a consensus, they just want to attack others. What the hell... while they spend all day every day in this section spreading hatred, others are elsewhere increasing their knowledge, making useful business contacts, and earning lots of money.
Very good point. Maybe the world of wackos can be successfully contained in this little forum...keeping the rest of the world safe from their dementia.
I should have said "our dementia". It's all fun until someone gets an eye poked out....then it's hilarious!
Yeah, it's all semantics and personal opinion. My wacko may be your reasonable, articulate person. I think it's good to discuss things without attacking one another. Who knows, we could learn something along the way. The important thing is to be respectful of other's opinions.
I actually think of this as the section for nut cases. I have a few nut cases that think they are atheists , another that is an apologist for a cu.. small religious group, and a few webmaster hating nut cases. When I get in a thread they are in they go nuts. I looked at one thread today and 3 of my nut cases where in the thread and I thought, wow I can get 3 of my nut cases going just by posting in this thread, a nut case hat trick. Whackos, nut cases, whatever!
Good for you * There is also more decent debate here at DP than a few months ago. * The election helps bring in new people, and Ron Paul's honesty also helps to raise the level of discussion in many places, both off-line and online.
A hat trick is a cricket term! If you took three wickets in three successive balls your teammates bought you a top hat. Anyway, I'm not a wacko, just a fully-fledged English eccentric. There is a difference y'know, not that it's visible to the naked eye ...
