Well obviously there might be some typos that slip through, but some people can write without grammatical errors - and certainly a lot better than some of the "English Experts" you get writing content on here. You get what you pay for though, I don't mind having to correct a few bits here and there if I'm not paying very much. Anyway, back on topic, 4500 words is quite a hefty sales letter. It would take quite a while to go through it and double check everything, more than the hour and a half that someone suggested above I think. Any serious writer/proof reader who actually speaks English as a first language, and say has a degree in English too, should charge at least $60 to do this. Unless, of course, they don't know what they're talking about or they're high school kids working at home for a bit of extra pocket money.
Yes, that's definitely part of it. That's why they say you shouldn't proofread your own work... you won't see your mistakes because you are too familiar with them. There is also the fact that an embarrassingly large percentage of the native English speaking population of the USA simply never learned good grammar or spelling. I can't believe the mistakes I see and hear all the time. Public figures who obviously don't know the grammar rules of the ONLY language they speak. I learned much of my grammar and spelling from reading so many books, and I believe that English language skills are on the decline partly because the younger generations don't read much. Add to that the popularity of SMS txt as a from of communication that abbreviates everything to the max and there goes the spelling skills of entire generations. Anyway, that's the end of my rant... for now I'll PM with an offer for doing the proofreading.
I beg to differ. I have three writers that have Master Degrees in English Literature, yet they only charge $0.01 per word. That is simply writing, which is generally more expensive than proof reading services.
Well anyway fren, did you get anyone to do it? I would do it for $60; it looks like clookid is saying he/she would do it for about $44 and I think someone said they would do it for free?
Yup, the job was taken by AvarianParakeet through PM and it is now completed. BUT... since my grammar is terrible, there's no way I can judge his work. That's why I'm going to ask some of my friends from the US to take a look. Anyone here interested?
Master Merlin, I´m studying English (my tongue language is Spanish) and I would like to know whether this sentence is grammatical or not: THIS SHOES ARE ORIGINAL. From my point of view, it is incorrect. However, since I´ve read it in a box of shoes and the shoe company could´t have been incorrect, may be i could be wrong... thank you very much for hearing me..... DAIANA
As I currently reside on english soil, It's apparent that my roots lie within the heritage of the english language. So hit me with a PM should you request my services.
Only your brain lies in the far distant past, apparently... Threads, The Resurrection II. P.S. It's English, not english.
